Twinkl Educational Publishing Releases Soothing Baby Sleep Album
Composer Andrew Swarbrick has partnered with leading educational publisher Twinkl to create a soothing baby sleep album in the weeks leading up to the birth of his own child. According to leading doctors, relaxing music and soothing sounds have a positive health effect on premature babies, while KidsHealth notes that relaxing music comforts and soothes babies and toddlers. Music at bedtime can help babies and toddlers feel safe, relaxed and calm, while music during naps can help energy levels decrease and encourage the body to prepare for sleep naturally. Music can also soothe and comfort older babies and toddlers who demonstrate separation anxiety or hyperactivity at sleep time. (from
Composer Andrew Swarbrick said:“As an expectant father and a composer I was really interested in how I could use music in pregnancy and after the birth. A quick search online revealed that music could be a key ingredient to providing a soothing and reassuring atmosphere for young children to unwind, with lots of benefits for parent and child. I thought it would be great to compose and produce a relaxing and soothing album that would be beneficial for babies and young children and enjoyable for parents too.”
Twinkl’s Chief Customer Understanding Officer Heather McAvan said: “We’re delighted to be able to expand our production to encompass all elements of learning, even pre birth learning as babies can be soothed with music whilst in the womb. About The Composer
Andrew is a music composer for T.V, film and motion picture advertising. Andrew wrote the score for the BAFTA long-listed short film ‘Twine’, and his music can also be heard on Sky Sports 1, ITV, NBC and many other TV networks worldwide. Recent credits include the Mass Effect Andromeda Initiative trailer, and a TV series promo for “Dragons” (a spin-off of Dreamworks Animation’s ‘How To Train Your Dragon’). Andrew works with a trailer music production company in L.A called Hi-Finesse where his work is released to the industry and continues to be considered by studios in Hollywood.
