June 19th - 3 am

Bay (grey) and a flaxen chestnut colt

Sire - Imperial Mistaar (Imperial Baarez x Imperial Mistilll)

Dam - Azaamah (Tammen x Aleeyah)

Azaamah was ultra sounded routinelypost breedingat the normal intervals and the twin was not detected on early scans. She was also ultra sounded at 5 months while under a Veterinarian's care for a minor skin infection butnothingunusual was noted upon examination.

A few weeks prior to foaling,Azaamah was found cast in her stall and required emergency medical care. We thought she was lost to us and her situation was critical. She recuperated strongly and deliveredthe twins at325 days. The bay colt was presented first, followed by the chestnut, just a few minutes later. He was delivered into Duane's arms and was quite a surprise! As she groomed the 1st colt , Duane brought the 2nd colt around for Azaamah to seeand she immediately attended to both of them.

The sire of the twins is Imperial Mistaar, by twice Res. World ChampionImperial Baarez: ( and out of one of the most influential mares of the Imperial breeding program, Imperial Mistilll (

Their dam Azaamah is a top producing daughter of the celebrity famous stallion Tammen, ( owned by Patrick Swayze. Azaamah is out of the *Ibn Morafic daughter Aleeyah who produced 12 foals, of which two were exported. This outstanding mare line goes back to Kateefa.

Azaamahhas produced 4 outstanding show champions by Imperial Baarez, two of which were exported. Her 2004 colt "Baarafic" is a twice Supreme Champion in Australia and her 2005 filly "Imperial Beveerah" was Yearling Futurity Champion at the Egyptian Event and went on to Europe where she was awarded a Jr. Championship at the Italian Egyptian Event and a Res. Jr. Championship at the European Egyptian Event for her owners at Prestige Egyptian Arabians in Belgium.

Azaamah has two other daughters by Imperial Baarez, "Barizzah" and "Baariyah",who earned top five futurity wins at the Egyptian Event as well asClass A/B championships during their show careers. Note: AAHC's own Lisa Brady showed Barizzah to her Class A Supreme Championship in 2003, followed by Jay Brayshowing her toher Top Five (3rd) place win at the Egyptian Event two months later. Lisa also showedBaariyah to her first Res. Jr. Championship in 2004 as a yearling. All are now producing/siring outstanding foals themselves.

We are blessed to welcome two very special foals as we have read once source citing that twinning is a rare occurrence in horses, statistically around 1 in 10,000 with a 20% survival rate for horses in general. Blessed are the broodmares…
