We celebrated a fulfilled and beautiful Fiesta as a parish and through the hard work of many volunteers, generous donors and you the community made this a successful event. We also thank Evy Levine and Jose Gomez for coordinating this event. As you know the funds raised from this Fiesta is to continue the mission of St. Ferdinand’s Church, and begin working on repairs in our Church building. May the Lord continue blessing each of you and may we continue working together to build the Kingdom of God.
FATHER’S DAY PRAYER
God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old. We pray for fathers, who are newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice. We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice. We remember fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who are no longer with us, but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen
RELIC TOUR OF ST. THOMAS MORE AND ST. JOHN FISHER
Please join Archbishop Gomez and faithful throughout Southern California on July 1 to welcome the relics of St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher, two 16th-century martyrs who exemplified courage and conviction in the face of persecution, to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels during Mass at 12:10 p.m. A presentation of the Relics by the curator will immediatelly follow the Mass, from 12:50 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Los Angeles is one of the last stops of the national relic tour – organized by the USCCB – during Fortnight for Freedom (June 21-July 4), a special time of the year when dioceses nationwide highlight the importance of defending religious freedom. The relic tour is part of two-week period of prayer, education and action by American Catholics in support of religious freedom.i
All are invited to venerate the relics of St. Thomas More (a small bone of the finger or toe) and St. John Fisher (a ring worn by the saint) at the Cathedral on Friday, July 1 from 12:10 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

O God our Creator, from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society.
We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty. Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith.
Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome— for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us— this great land will always be “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
Next Sunday our parish will participate in the Peter’s Pence 2016 Collection for the Works of the Holy Father. Each year the Holy Father asks us to help him provide for our neediest brothers and sisters throughout the world—those who suffer due to war, oppression, and natural disasters. Join the Holy Father in this act of justice and kindness. Please pray for the Holy Father and give generously to this special appeal! Envelopes for this collection are in the pews, take one and bring it back next weekend. Thank you for your help!

An 8 Week Study Guide to Catholic Prayer
Do you find it easy to pray? For most of us, prayer can be difficult with our busy lives and/or our inability to quiet our minds. Oremus study program teaches us the essentials of an effective and fruitful prayer life. Come join us, starting Thursday, July 7th at St. Ferdinand School Library, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Help Needed!Our Outreach Center needs volunteers to help in the distribution of our Mobile Food Pantry. We are asking if you are available to sort/pack and distribute food. (requires to be standing and lifting bags and boxes). Dates of Distribution are the second and 4th Friday of the Month from 8:00am to 11:00am. Celebramos una Fiesta bonita y llena de diversión como comunidad y gracias por el trabajo de muchos voluntarios, generosos bienhechores y ustedes la comunidad de hacer este evento un éxito. También, damos las gracias a Evy Levine y José Gómez en coordinar este evento. Como saben todo los fondos recaudados de nuestra Fiesta es para continuar la misión de nuestra Parroquia de St. Ferdinand y también iniciar reparaciones de nuestra Iglesia. Que el Señor continúe bendiciéndolos y continuemos trabajando unidos construyendo el Reino de Dios.
ORACION DEL DIA DE LOS PADRES
Dios nuestro Padre, te damos gracias y alabanza por los padres jóvenes y mayores. Oremos por los padres que recientemente han adoptado su vocación; que puedan encontrar la fortaleza y perseverancia para equilibrar el trabajo, familia y la fe en la alegría y sacrificio. Oremos por los hombres que no son padres, pero son ejemplos y nos guían con amor y consejo paternal. Recordemos a los padres, abuelos y bisabuelos que ya no están con nosotros, pero que viven siempre en nuestra memoria y que nos nutren con su amor. Amén.
COLECTA PARA LAS OBRAS DEL SANTO PADRE (Peter’s Pence)
El próximo domingo nuestra parroquia participara en la Colecta para las Obras de Santo Padre 2016. Esta colecta permite al Santo Padre responder a las peticiones de fondos de emergencia por parte de los más desamparados del mundo. Este llamado especial es una oportunidad de demostrar justicia y bondad a nuestros hermanos y hermanas necesitados. Por favor oren por las obras del Santo Padre y contribuyan generosamente a este llamado. Llévese el sobre que se encuentra en las bancas y regréselo la próxima semana.
