(Yes, this DOES differ from Haynes / G.M. manual procedure)

TVS cable adjustment (For TH700 transmission): I went to see the specialist who rebuilt my box recently;
He says correct procedure to adjust TVS cable to a reference point is thus;
1. disconnect TVS cable
2. Have someone keep accelerator pedal floored
3. Reconnect cable
4. Depress release button and pull outer cable as hard as possible back towards adjuster then release button
5. Release accelerator then bring outer cable 1/8" back towards throttle body
At 75kph auto MUST kick down to 2nd from 3rd

* I adjusted my cable according to manual specs and an hour later my 2-3 clutch pack burnt out! – OK; MAYBE my trannie was on the way out ANYWAY (Not sure) but the ABOVE method was used by the auto tech after rebuild and has proven flawless and silk smooth shifts have continued ever since.
