Racing Services Administration Assistant
(6 month contract with potential for a permanent role)

TurfTrax Limited provides a range of products and services primarily to the worldwide horse racing industry including; the TurfTrax GoingStick, Going Map System, Weather Systems and a real time Sectional Timing and Tracking System - ‘STATS’.
The company’s clients include all UK racecourses, Channel 4, the British Horseracing Authority, QIPCO British Champions Series, Chelsea FC, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Victoria Racing Club and the California Horseracing Board.
The company, based in St Neot’s Cambridgeshire, is in the process of expanding the business in the UK and overseas.
Role of the Administration Assistant
Reporting to the Racing Services Team Leader the Racing Services Assistant will be involved in day-to-day support of all the TurfTrax Limited data products and services.
The role would ideally suit someone educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent and/or with relevant work experience.
Key Tasks
· Production and distribution of ‘Going Maps’ using a bespoke web based application and Adobe Illustrator
· Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
· Monitoring of the TurfTrax weather systems
· Dealing with telephone enquiries and providing customer support
· Providing general administrative support to other members of staff
· Other duties as required
Key Skills
Due to the nature of the work the successful candidate will need be demonstrate the following abilities:
· An excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
· A sound level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office products
· Discipline in maintaining very high standards of quality
· The ability to be work to tight deadlines and multi task
· The ability to work unsupervised after instruction
On occasion the Racing Services Assistant may be asked to carry out some tasks away from the office and therefore a full UK driving licence is also desirable.
Some interest, knowledge or previous work experience in the horse racing industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
Hours of work
Normal hours of work will be 8 hours per day (exclusive of lunch break) 5 days per week. Due to the busy racing schedule you will also be required to undertake work at weekends and on public holidays and will be given Time off in Lieu in return for additional hours worked.
Salary
The starting salary will be in the range of £16-£18,000 (pro rata) depending on experience.
This role is initially to assist during the busy summer period, but could lead to a permanent position in due course.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days plus bank holidays (pro rata).
