1.  Meeting Call to Order - Welcome

2.  Attendance -Roll Call/ Determination of a Quorum

• SAC Members Present: Connie Ledbetter, Maxima Cruz, Sheena Lazarre, Jessica Campbell, Yadira Mireles, Jasmin Sanchez

• Others present: Mary Pierce, Melissa Stamper, Sami Ehl

• SAC Members NOT Present: Schella Dubious, Maria Reyes, Luis Cuevas, Madeleines Castro, Millie Perez

• A Quorum was present.

Call to Order: A meeting of the AVE School Advisory Council was held in the Media Center on December 8, 2015. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM. Melissa Stamper will record minutes for this meeting.

3.  New Business was shared in a PowerPoint and covered:

·  School Improvement Funds Usage $1,025.67 – Review

·  Vision/Mission – Review/Approve

Ms. Campbell reviewed the mission and vision and opened the floor for discussion on any changes needed to the Vision and Mission. There were no changes suggested at this time. Ms. Sanchez made a motion to approve the vision and mission. Ms. Ledbetter seconded the motion.

·  Revision to the Dress Code Policy – Review/Approve

There were some minor revisions made to the dress code policy in order to make expectations more clear to students and parents. Ms. Campbell reviewed the changes and asked for input to make any changes to the policy. No changes were suggested at this time. Ms. Cruz made a motion to approve the dress code, and Ms. Sanchez seconded the motion.

·  Midyear Progress Monitoring – Review

Ms. Campbell reviewed the progress made toward SIP goals in quarter two.

·  Migrant Student Allocation – Review

Ms. Campbell explained that we were recently given a budget for migrant students. We will be starting a before school tutoring program with these students.

·  Parent Involvement Updates – Review

Upcoming parent events were reviewed by Ms. Campbell.

·  Meeting Times – Review/Approve

Many SAC members have been having difficulty attending evening meetings. Ms. Campbell asked for input on the most convenient time to hold SAC meetings. A majority of the members expressed that morning meetings were better for their schedule. It was suggested that SAC meeting times be switched to the morning for the second half of the year. Ms. Sanchez made a motion to approve this change, and Ms. Lazarre seconded the motion.
