Visitors to a school often form an opinion of the school and community based on the appearance of the facilities. This course discusses the power of curb appeal and how communication can enhance public perceptions. Strategies and methods are provided for maintaining facilities as well as a comprehensive study of “Best Maintenance Practices”.

Sunday, April 10, 2016LTC 721 Positive Sporting Behavior Time: 1:30-5:30 p.m.

Appropriate strategies and techniques, designed to create a positive atmosphere in a productive learning environment are taught. Components include good citizenship, self-assessment, and sportsmanship. The goal of the course is for each attendee to take new ideas back to their school communities for implementation.

Monday, April 11, 2016 LTC 631 Emergency Management/Safety (new in 2015) Time: 1:30-5:30 p.m.

Course focuses on event safety with an overview of how to mitigate/prevent, prepare for, and manage emergencies during interscholastic athletic events. The course highlights venue and event safety, security, and emergency management issues. Emphasis is placed on creating an emergency team and assessing each sport venue for risks.

Monday, April 11, 2016LTC 506 Athletic Law/Legal Issues II & Title IX Time: 1:30-5:30 p.m.

This course has in-depth coverage of compliance issues regarding Title IX and gender equity in an interscholastic athletic program, including the methodology for a school to perform a Title IX self-audit. The course also discusses strategies and policies related to prevention of sexual harassment for an interscholastic athletic program.
