New teachers (NT) can not always have access to you, your knowledge and/or experiential base. As a Teacher Support Specialist,you want to support the new teacher without sacrificing time dedicated to your students. Designing materials and resources for support of the new teacher is critical.

Projects are completed before the end of Phase I: TSS Preparation.
1. Select 1 Marcia Tate topic for brief presentations at the beginning of training sessions. Record Reflections during peer presentations.
2. Design and Create a notebook of ideas, tips and resources for NT.
3. Record and share classroom management techniques with peers using the Classroom Management template. Select 10 shared ideas and add to the TSS notebook.
4. Group Presentation: Brain-Based Learning
5. Create a door prize to be shared during the annual New Teacher Orientation or to be given to your own NT.
6. Compile a digital file of lesson plan templates for customization by the NT.
a. Place the templates in a digital folder and add them to the TSS LP
Templates folder.
b. Submit hardcopies to the instructor in a manila folder.
7. Research assigned topics, share information and add online resources to the Requested Assistance database. (List in MSWord) Select during Session 2.
8. Create a coupon book to give to your NT during TSS Phase II

9. Develop an Action Plan of direct assistance for your assigned teacher.
* Remember to send reflections to instructors after each session. / 1
