About Katherine Low Settlement

Katherine Low Settlement is a multi-purpose charity that has been serving the communities of Battersea and Wandsworth since 1924. We are dedicated to tackling poverty and building stronger communities.

We run a range of our own community projects to support children and their families, older people, newly-arrived communities, and in the future with unemployed people. We also invite other charities and community groups to operate out of our premises – so together we can meet the diverse needs of the local communities of Wandsworth. Each week we work with 38 charities supporting more than 500 people.

About the Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the legal guardian of the Katherine Low Settlement. Trustees are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting, and are selected on the basis of the experience, skills and expertise they bring to further the main objectives of the Settlement. The Board seeks to reflect the diversity of our community with respect to age, ethnicity and disability and a representation of a variety of backgrounds.

Why join the KLS Board of Trustees?

Our trustees find being a member of the board a rewarding experience where they get the opportunity to contribute to, shape the direction of, and oversee the governance of a long established and dynamic organisation. It’s an opportunity to give back to the communities of Wandsworth by using their skills and experience in another setting. They are a committed and passionate group.
