Josh Ranta (Eagle Project Proposal)
· Josh proposes to work on a literacy garden at Oak Pointe Elementary school. His part of the project includes creating four paths through the garden, incorporating the existing topiaries, and building raised garden boxes. The boxes will be 16’ x 8’ x 8”.
· Oak Pointe’s students will be able to study plant life cycles.
· The plan is to dig down one inch to remove rocks and lay down landscaping fabric. The current plan calls for rubberized mulch, but it is expensive so traditional mulch may be substituted. Josh is looking for mulch and other donations.
· The current budget is $2223 (mostly mulch cost).
· Josh estimates about 100 man hours are needed, and will need at least twenty scouts to finish the project in one day. Possible work days are September 8 and September 22.
· Project was approved.
Daniel Layton (Eagle Project Proposal)
· Daniel proposes to complete his Eagle project at Irmo Elementary School. The project would be landscaping around the new construction.
· The project involves digging up scrub grass and filling the area with mulch. “IES” or “Irmo” would be spelled out with rocks within the mulch.
· The team would plant flowers and other plants and install a bird bath or feeder on the smaller plot.
· The project will take one day of work and one day of prep. Estimated man hours are to be determined, and the budget is $600.
· He expects to complete the project in late September. The date may be moved up, as he turns 18 in October.
· Project was approved.
Ms. McGregor (Secretary)
· Minutes were approved.
Mr. Cannon (Treasurer’s Report)

Volunteers are needed to be patrol leaders and assistant patrol leaders, and to lead the ceremonial trail and camp fire. Josh will choose the volunteers J and ask them individually. The most important thing is that they show up.
Mr. G. Lee (Scoutmaster)
