Troop Holiday Party & Gift Swap
Tuesday, December 19 at 7:30pm is the annual holiday party and gift swap at BUMC. Please remember to bring a wrapped gift ($5 or less) to exchange. You never know what you’ll end up with at the end of the night! Cecilia Cunningham will be coordinating the refreshments – watch for more information to come.
Scouting for Food
The Scouting for Food drive resulted in the collection of 400 pounds of food! We received some very heartfelt thanks from the family to whom we donated the food. Thanks for everyone’s efforts and especially to Donna McCarty and Mike Rycyzyn for coordinating the event.
Rechartering Reminder
Please remember to send in your checks to Ron Bellamy. The cost is $55 for each scout and you should have received an invoice via email.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING SCOUTS WHO RECENTLY ADVANCED RANK:

Michael Rycyzyn: 2nd Class
Adult Youth Protection Training
Volunteering at Troop 181 events is a wonderful thing you can do for yourself and your son. It is always appreciated and encouraged. If you are volunteering, it would be a good idea to take the time to get certified with the BSAYouth Protection Training for Adults. This certification is valid for 3 years. It’s easy to do on-line. Just go to the council website at , go to Training, and look under Youth Protection Training. At the end of the on-line training they will ask for your ID number – that number is your social security number. It’s fast and easy. Please let Cindy Sharo, our Training Coordinator, know when you have completed your course.
Camping Coordinator Needed!!
Parents, we still need someone to co-coordinate the Whitewater Rafting trip on April 20-22. Please check your calendar and step up to helping out and having fun with the boys. Please call A.B. Maynard today with your commitment.
Parents Meeting
The next parents meeting will be at 7:30pm on Sunday, January 7th at BUMC. It is important to have at least one parent from each family attend and make their own commitments to our events rather than having them assigned to them.
Parents – Your sons have asked that you remember to give them their own copy of the newsletter, calendar and roster. Please point them to our website, or too.
Co-Scoutmaster Assignments
The following adult leaders have committed to be Co-Scoutmasters of the Month to support the troop:
Mike Harris – December
Joe DiGiorgio – January
Mary Robins – February
John Hillenbrand - March
John Weissman – April
George McCarty – May
John Fissinger – June
Donna DiGigorgio - July
Please call the Co-Scoutmaster if you have a “Mr. Miller question” and he is not home. Please remember to support them too by attending the troop meeting to which you have been assigned (check your troop calendar for your commitment) so we always have at least “two-deep leadership” at each meeting.
