Alumni Nomination Form

Each year The Educational Opportunity Fund Professional Association of New Jersey, Inc. (EOFPANJ) and the Educational Opportunity Fund Statewide Alumni Association, Inc. (EOFSAA) highlight the achievements and contributions of four outstanding alumni by awarding them with The Thomas Kean Outstanding EOF Alumni Award. Celebrating over 40 years of existence,theEducational Opportunity Fund (EOF)Program provides college access, academic support services, and eligibility-based financial assistance to highly motivated students who come from economically and/or educationally advantaged backgrounds. Since its inception,the EOF Program has graduated over 30,000 students from over 50 New Jersey colleges and universities.

In 1967, EOF was established by legislation that was sponsored by then, freshman legislator, Thomas H. Kean. Thomas H. Kean became New Jersey’s 48th Governor in 1982 and served for two terms.In his honor, the Thomas Kean Outstanding EOF Alumni Awardwas established to recognize prestigious alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their community and have demonstrated professional success. The honorees are determined by a nomination process that involves EOF Programs and EOFSAA Executive Board Members.

Timing

Awardees will be announced during the Alumni Awards and Scholarship Banquet, which takes place on Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 as a part of the EOFPANJ Spring Conference.

Criteria

Awardees must have entered a New Jersey College or University through the Educational Opportunity Fund Program. The alumni must have been in the EOF program when they completed their college degree. Finally, the alumni must have demonstrated success in their career in community.

Nominations

EOF Programs and EOFSAA Executive Board Members can nominate alumni by submitting a nomination form. Nominations must be sent to the EOF Alumni Awards Committee by February 21st, 2014. The EOF Alumni Awards Committee will notify all awardees by February 28th, 2014.
