Trevor has worked in the pipeline business for over 58 years originally in the design, application and installation side of the business and later in manufacturing of pipeline mechanical couplings and valves for many differing applications.
After graduating from City University 1973, he started work with London Borough of Enfield, (his University sponsor), working on sewage and waste water projects in N London and Harlow before moving to manufacturing as Technical Sales Manager with Viking Johnson Ltd, part of the Victaulic Plc group.
Trevor achieved Chartered Civil Engineer status in 1975.
Through the next few years, Trevor moved into product design, then Marketing Manager, and subsequently to senior management becoming Director and General Manager in 1989.
After the acquisition of Victaulic Plc by Glynwed Plc, Trevor moved to Singapore to take up the post of Regional Manager within the AVK Valves Group and in 1998 moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to manage the AVK manufacturing facility there. In late 2001 Trevor accepted the position of General Manager for Asia within the T&A Hydronics Company, part of IMI plc, (HVAC products and services), and moved back to Singapore, before settling, in 2003, in Shanghai to run that business from within China.
In 2007, Trevor accepted redundancy terms and retired to Australia for almost two years. However, in 2008, the AVK Company owner persuaded Trevor to return to China to set up and run a new business similar to T&A’s HVAC business. The business flourished in China and in 2014 Trevor stepped down as General Manager and moved back to Australia to continue as Executive Chairman of the business with special responsibility for growth of the Australasian and S.E.Asia parts of the business
During Trevor’s career, he has been Chairman of the CIM in Singapore, Chairman of the British Businessmen’s’ Council in Jeddah and Vice Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. He has also guest lectured for the Shanghai British School in Shanghai. In addition to being an MICE, Trevor is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the first ever Chartered Marketer in S E Asia.
