Travelling on public transport to Victoria University – Footscray Park Campus

Public transport information

To travel by train:

  • take a Sunbury, Werribee or Williamstown line train to Footscray Station and connect with a Route 82 tram along Leeds Street, a Route 406 or 409 bus along Moore Street or walk fifteen minutes along Leeds and Nicholson streets to campus.
  • on Friday and Saturday nights, trains on the Sunbury and Werribee lines run to and from Footscray Station.

To travel by tram:

  • take a Route 82 tram and get off at Stop 60, Tiernan Street/Droop Street.

or

  • take a Route 57 tram and connect with Route 82 tram down West Rd. Get off at stop 48, Wests Road and Raleigh Road to interchange.

To travel by bus:

  • take a Route 216, 219, 220, 402, 403, 410, 411, 412 or 414 bus to Footscray Station/Irving Street and connect with a Route 82 tram to campus. Route 402 runs every 10 minutes between Footscray and East Melbourne

or

  • take a Route 223 or 472 bus and get off at Tiernan Street/Droop Street. Route 223 runs every 15 minutes between Highpoint SC and Yarraville. Route 472 runs every 15 minutes between Williamstown and Moonee Ponds

or

  • take a Route 406 or 409 bus and get off at Victoria University/Ballarat Road

or

  • take a Route 404 bus and get off at Footscray Park/Ballarat Road
  • on Friday and Saturday nights, Route 941, 942 and 952 Night Buses operate between the city and Footscray

To travel by VLine train:

  • take a Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo line train to Footscray Station and connect with a Route 82 tram along Leeds Street, a Route 406 or 409 bus along Moore Street or walk fifteen minutes along Leeds and Nicholson streets to campus.

Concession travel

If you’re under 19 you can travel on a concession fare with a Child myki. If you’re 17 or 18, you must carry government issued proof of age ID (such as a passport, drivers licence, proof of age card), or proof of another concession entitlement (such as a Health Care Card).

If you're a tertiary student studying a full time undergraduate course on campus, you can apply for a PTV Tertiary Student ID. This costs $9 and allows you to use a Concession myki until 28 February next year. Download an application at ptv.vic.gov.au/students.

If you’re an international undergraduate student, you may be eligible to buy an annual iUSEpass which gives you half-price myki fares in the zones where you study. Visit ptv.vic.gov.au/iuse for more information.

If you're a postgraduate or part-time student, you're not eligible for concession fares. However, if you're on a low income, you may be eligible for a Health Care Card.

Night Network

Travel later and stay out longer on weekends with Night Network. We’re running all night metropolitan trains, trams, late night buses, and a 2am coach service to key regional centres to help you get home after dark.Trains on the Sunbury and Werribee lines operate to and from nearby Footscray Station on Friday and Saturday nights as do Route 941, 942 and 952 Night Buses.
