TRANSLATIONAL CANCER RESEARCH CENTRES -
IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE
Expression of Interest Application Form
Introduction
The Cancer Institute NSW is Australia’s first state-wide, government supported cancer control agency. The Institute established Translational Cancer Research Centres (TCRCs) in 2011 to provide closer links between research and clinical centres and improve cancer outcomes through enhancing the creation and transfer of evidence into practice.
The aim of the TCRC is to have insights from practice informing research and ensuring the rapid adoption of findings for improved patient outcomes.
A key objective of the TCRCs is to further develop the field of implementation science[1]and better understand what accelerates the uptake of evidence into practice within the health system in NSW.
This one off grant round is for applications which will use an implementation science approach to demonstrate how research findings from the TCRCs can be taken up into routine cancer care.
Applications should:
- Use relevant theory (e.g. from health psychology, sociology, behavioural economics, organisational and leadership models, policy frameworks) to understand mechanisms of action and explore effect modifiers of complex health and quality improvement interventions to be applied to cancer.
- Contribute to the field of Implementation Science including the evaluation of existing and creation of new methods, models and perspectives in relation to cancer.
Applications will be considered via a two stage process:
- Stage 1 – Expressions of Interest
- Stage 2 – Full Application (by invitation)
Funding Available – up to $700,000
