Translating an Always Event into Standard Work: Identifying Your Laboratory for Change

Instructions:

Use the worksheet on the next two pages to help identify your laboratory for change. Starting with a statement of an Always Event, work through the first three steps of the Translation guidance in the slide (left).

You will see a couple of blank lines in each table to allow you to consider a couple of alternatives.

We focus on the first three steps in the translation because you can’t change the work sitting in a seminar room! You need to go to the workplace, observe and talk with patients, point-of-care staff and supervisors.
