- Agenda Adopted: Bonnie moved we accept the agenda with no changes, Andrew seconded. Agenda adopted.
- Minutes: May minutes were presented. Kim moved to approve the minutes, Allison seconded. Motion Carried.
- Report of Officers: Kim just returned from CASE/CEC and CAN coordinator training. Shared ideas on how organizations are sharing advocacy. They also have a governmental part to this. Carrying thru three topics: Keeping Public Funds in Public Education, Appropriations – IDEA only funded up to 17% and want to get it to 40% and third topic of cuts to Medicaid. Did not want to talk about reauthorization of IDEA but talked about funding side of this. Kim will send out more detailed information when she gets the information cleaned up which she took.
- Kim Richie, Interim Secretary of RSA, was a keynote speaker at the CEC/CASE Special Education Legislative Summit. See attachment for Kim Osmani’s notes.
- Kim had sent out document developed with DCDT and recommend changes for IDEA. Came out with draft document which Kim will send out again and wants us to review and give ideas on this, asking for amendments or full reauthorization. Would like to come up with a paper on our suggestions.

- Treasurer’s Report: Allison. Said she has yet to receive the latest update. Had asked Veronica for past history information. She said it would be difficult but she would try. If anyone has past information, Allison would like to receive that.
- Kim asked if Mary Ann, as president last year, to send any past fiscal, information she has to Allison for her use.
- Web Site: Andrew reported we have had some updates on our website. It isn’t all the way there but is better. Brochure has been moved to the top of the page, font all the same, contact information and other updates. There is still minor things to be done but Andrew is pleased where we are.
- Transition Bylaws: Pat has the final copy of the bylaws which will be reviewed by the Constitution and Bylaws and then presented to the NRA Board for approval. Pat will keep the board approved of the progress.
- Committees: Need to have committees having meetings going forward so we have movement in the committees.
- Mary Ann is Chair of Nominations Committee. Andrew and Kim serves on that committee. Pat will look at which offices need to be filled.
- Membership Committee. Mary Ann and Lebo are on that committee and Lebo has sent out an email to students in the division to see how we can help or assist those student members. Kim will put Lebo in the chair position.
- Governmental Affairs: Bonnie and Pat are chairperson of this committee. Allison wishes to be a part of this committee also.
- Jenni is the chairperson of this committee. San Diego is assisting with webinars. Kim will set up a call with San Diego state and Fred Schroeder as to how we can coordinate this.
- Discussion on what fees would be charged for our webinars for the professional development.
- Wintac – it was discussed that we do want to continue to have a conversation with WINTAC and CSAVR to have them hold a webinar for our Division.
- There are pre-conferences at the national convention, Transition is not presenting; however, everyone is encouraged to attend one.

- If anyone has an event coming up, they should let Kim know so brochures can be sent for a booth or put brochures in folders advertising our division. Discussion about getting promotional material to hand out in addition to the brochures with the division information on it. It was presented to have like the membership committee to look in at options of what we could get like pens, highlighters, clips, pads, etc. that would enhance getting our information out.
- New Business: Kim will get out information regarding President’s order to reduce regulations to get feedback regarding any changes should be made.
- At the legislative education summit they had scholarships to allow four students to attend this conference. Kim threw out the idea of having a scholarship to help sponsor a member or student to attend the NRA Governmental Affairs or the national convention. Allison also suggested scholarships might be used to sponsor students for the webinars also.
