Training Manager Guide to the Net Languages Platform

This guide is designed for training managers who need to track student activity associated with a specific usergroup. Training managers should be provided with specific administration codes associated with a specific usergroup.

Log on to the platform with your codes. This will give you access to viewing your students. This is the page training managers will see when you log on:

Viewing tracking system

Click on “View Registered Users” to get access to students and tutors.

Here you can look for a specific student by using the search filters or see all your students. Click on “continue” to display your students.

1. To see the time spent by each student on each unit of the course, select “view sessions”.

You can also see even more detailed information: dates and time spent on each session by clicking on the icon next to the student’s name in the column “session details”.

2. To see the tutorial and test marks given, select “View student progress”.

The marks for the tutorials appear like the example below.

If you do not wish to see all the personal information about the student when viewing this information, you can also select “Hide other details”.

3. It is possible to export a report in excel format. To generate a report, it is necessary to first select the users required, using the filters. It is necessary to select a course e.g. General English - Premium and then click on “continue”.

Once the students have been selected, click on "create a report" and you will see the following window:

If you want to see the percentage of the unit the students have completed, tick "Include unit completion as a percentage" or if you would like to see the number of exercises completed out of the total number in the unit, tick "Include unit completiong as a fraction of the total number of exercises".

You can export a report for all student activity for the length of the course. In this case, just click on "start" in section 2. If you wish to export a report for student activity between some specific dates, click on the "filter by date" option and select the dates you would like to view before clicking on "start" in the Create report option.

To download the report, click on "Download" and then save or open the report. You also have the option of exporting the feedback forms at the end of each unit. To do this, change the option in "Report type" to Feedback forms.

4. For students studying a General English, English for Work or IELTS course you can also view exercise scores for each student and each exercise. To do this click on the Exercise scores icon:

This will display the exercise scores information for the selected student e.g.

To return to the main menu click on “back to menu” at the top of the page.
