CLASS 1 B.S.P.S TRAINING STAKES: Ponies/horses 4 years old or over. Riders any age.Max height of fences 60cms. Open to Plaited & Heritage Ponies.

CLASS 2 B.S.P.S. TRAINING STAKES: Ponies/horses 4 years old or over. Riders any age. Max height of fences 70cms. Open to Plaited and Heritage ponies.

Classes 1 & 2 are NOT qualifying classes

CLASS 3 B.S.P.S. NOVICE NURSERY STAKES. Mare or gelding 4 yrs or over not exceeding 133 cms.Riders not to have attained their 12th before 1st January 2017

CLASS 4 B.S.P.S. OPEN (RESTRICTED) NURSERY STAKES Mare or gelding 4 years or over not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January 2017.

CLASS 5 B.S.P.S. MIXED HEIGHT NOVICE W.H.P/ INT WH Mare or gelding 4 yrs or over, not exceeding 158 cms. .Riders MUST jump in their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section. Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cms or the Intermediate section.

CLASS 6 BSPS MIXED HEIGHT OPEN (Restricted) WHP/INT WH. Mare or gelding 4 yrs or over, not exceeding 158cms. Riders must jump their correct height section and be the correct age for the height of animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony providing the animals are of a different height section. Riders must declare if they are competing in the 153cms or the Intermediate Section. Animals may not compete in 153cms class and Int WH at the same show.

CLASS 17 B.S.P.S. OPEN (RESTRICTED) LEAD REIN PONY OF SHOW HUNTER TYPE. Mare or gelding, 4 years or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January 2017.

CLASS 18 B.S.P.S. OPEN FIRST PONY OF SHOW PONY OR OF SHOW HUNTER PONY TYPE, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year.

Snaffle Bridles only. No cantering is allowed except for individual performances, ponies must leave the ring at the walk or trot.

CLASS 23 B.S.P.S. OPEN (RESTRICTED) LEAD REIN SHOW PONY 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January 2017.

CLASS 24 B.S.P.S. OPEN (RESTRICTED) FIRST RIDDEN SHOW PONY 4 years old or over, not exceeding 122cms. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January 2017.

CHAPS COLOURED CLASSES JUDGE: MRS P DORMAN

CHAPS (UK) Winter restricted coloured horse/pony classes. Riders any age. Exhibits not to have qualified for HOYS in the current and previous year in which the finals will be held (eg for 2017 the horse/pony must not have qualified for HOYS in either 2015 or 2016). ONE ANIMAL FROM EACH OF THE FOLLOWING FOUR CATEGORIES QUALIFIES. (No Lead Reins in the classes)

CLASS 25 NON NATIVE RIDDEN Horse (exc.153cms) or Pony (not exc. 153cms) Qualifier.

CLASS 26 NATIVE/TRADITIONAL/COB/SHOW COB TYPE Horse (exc. 148cms) or Pony (not exc. 148cms).

The owner, rider, or animal need not be registered to compete. To validate qualifications both membership and registration must be in place at the time of entering the relevant year’s finals. Judges will not ride any exhibit in the qualifiers but will ride Horses at the final. Both sections of the qualifier card must be returned as per instructions on the card.

WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS

All Rules as per the 2017 B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook, except for any new or amended rules as included in this Schedule.

All ponies must be four years old or over. Ages for riders as per the B.S.P.S. Rule & Show Handbook except any new or amended rules as included in this schedule.

B.S.P.S. QUALIFICATION

The 1st, 2nd &3rd prize-winners will qualify in the Novice Classes.In the MIXED HEIGHT NOVICE CLASSES the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th prize winners will qualify.

In the Mixed Height Open/Rest classes the 4 highest placed restricted animals will qualify. (Eligible Riders on Restricted animals MUST wear an armband).

Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies, providing they have a valid J.M.B. Certificate before the date of the Championship they qualify for.

B.S.P.S. HERITAGE QUALIFICATION

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize-winners in the Novice Classes will qualify and in MIXED HEIGHT NOVICE CLASSES the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize winners will qualify.

Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the Winter Championships and must be ridden by B.S.P.S. Members, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEAR HARD HATS TO *BSEN1384/*PAS015/ *ASTMF1163 STANDARD AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED.

IT IS ADVISED THAT JUMPING COMPETITORS WEAR BACK PROTECTORS.

ENTRY FEES ARE NON-RETURNABLE.

NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE CLASS.

THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL. ANY OBJECTIONS MUST BE MADE TO THE SECRETARY ACCOMPANIED BY A £10 DEPOSIT.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR AMMALGAMATE ANY CLASS.

NO LIABILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR ANY INJURY, ACCIDENT, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO SPECTATORS, ANIMALS, VEHICLES OR PERSONAL PROPERTY.

HORSES OR PONIES THAT WISH TO COMPETE “H.C.” WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN ANY OTHER CLASS AT THE SHOW.
