Nursery,
Foundation and Key Stage 1 /
  • Each class receives 2 hours of P.E each week
  • Structured lessons which include warm, cool down and re cap.
  • Sports covered include games (football, hockey, tag rugby, kwik cricket, tennis basketball/ netball. Gym and dance. Athletics and key fitness ideas.
  • Wake Up Shake Up
  • School partnership events for the first time for foundation.
  • Intervention groups for gross motor skills.

Key stage 2 /
  • Each class receives 2 hours of P.E each week

  • Each class in Year 5 and Year 6 goes swimming for around 10-12 weeks and 6 weeks in Yr 3 and 4.
  • Year 6 Residential is excellent provision for OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activities)
  • New year 4 residential to Youlbury also offers OAA and younger age than previously.

  • We have seen a major increase in children joining sports teams for the first time or rejoining after some time out.
  • In years 5/6 there are over 20 children who are part of sports teams outside of school.

  • House matches comps are highly competitive, with lots of children trying to get involved with different sports being offered.
  • House Matches award included House champions, Player of the tournament and sportsmanship award. This helps the children to learn that it is not all about winning.

After school clubs and extra curricular activities /
  • We run several more after school sports clubs than last year..
  • KS1 and KS2 football with Mr Graham sees over 50 Children participate over 3 days
  • 2 days of Multi sports where a different sport is covered every 6-8 weeks.

  • More opportunity for children to take part in some sports for example table tennis, badminton, squash.

  • Year 6 cricket team finished runners up in the recent kwik cricket tournament, as a result of this went to the County tournament which they finished 4th place overall in Oxfordshire.

  • Class teachers working alongside Sports Coach to ensure they do not become “de-skilled”
  • Female TA with coaching expertise continues to enhance and elevate PE provision for girls and helps with after school sports club.
  • Forest School provision for all. Happening 3 times a week.
