Tournament Rules

TOURNAMENT RULES, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  1. The Tournament Director reserves the right to alter the playing format in the event of inclement weather, other unplayable conditions or any other events that may arise.
  2. The Tournament Director reserves the right to alter Tournament Rules without advance notice to teams.
  3. Cancellation Policy:

0 games played50% refund

1 games played tournament considered complete.

Once registration is received these rules apply and if you drop out within two weeks of the tournament date, there is no refund.

  1. Rain-Out Information: Each team must show up and be ready to play at your scheduled time, unless there is a change.CHECK THE WEBSITE SCHEDULE PAGE FOR ALL THE LATEST WEATHER UPDATES.
  2. Each team must submit a roster before their first game. This is a CLOSED roster tournament. (players can not play on two different teams within the same tournament)

●The roster must include the coach's cell phone number.

Each team must submit a hold harmless form before play begins

  1. Each Team must have their birth certificates in case of a dispute.
  2. NO pre-game infield is permitted

You can warm up along the baseline.

All playing rules not locally covered shall be governed by the National League Rules of Major League Baseball.

Games will have a 2 hrtime limit , time starts at the coaches meeting at home plate after the coin flip.

●NO inning can start after the 2hr limitation - once started, the inning must finish. Umpire will verify start time with the home scorebook, and the time starts at the home plate meeting.

●There will be no time limitation in the championship game.

●If a pool game ( or no advance game) is tied after the time limit the game ends in a tie , if a championship round game (including the championship) is tied after regulation, then we move to a Texas shootout format ( home team remains home team, runner on second base, no outs, 3-2 count on every batter, each team bats, pitching innings count towards tournament totals)

  1. A coin toss will determine home team. In the playoffs, the highest seed will be home team.
  2. Games will be played 10 minutes following the conclusion of the previous game, so be there 1hr before game..
  3. All games will be (6) innings.
  4. Run rule in all games: 12 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5.
  5. There will be no tolerance for malicious contact at any base. A collision between runner and fielder will be the umpire's decision on ejection and umpire's ruling is final. OTHER EJECTIONS, player or coach, automatic one game suspension. A fan that is ejected is then ejected for the remaining part of the tournament.
  6. Re-entry Rule — a starting player may re-enter the game one time in their original batting order. Substitutes may not re-enter the game once removed.
  7. Games suspended will begin where they left off.
  8. Game time is forfeit time.
  9. Hitting Rules:
  10. An extra hitter (EH) will be permitted allowing a batting order to consist of 10 players.

●The extra hitter is allowed to be inserted freely into a defensive position as long as the batting order does not change.

●You can expand the batting order beyond 10 players if you want to but it must remain the same number of players throughout the game.

  1. Courtesy runner for catcher with 2 outs.

●Player not currently in the line-up.

●If there are no players available on the bench courtesy runner can be the last player who made an out.

  1. We will follow Nations Baseball for bat restrictions.
  2. Teams supply baseballs. At least one new, the others can be good used.

  1. One pitch in an inning = 1 inning pitched (no 1/3 of innings will be tracked)

●13U – 14U no warning

●9U – 12U one warning per pitcher

  1. Intentional Walks — no pitches need to be thrown.
  2. No pitcher re-entry

●Once a pitcher leaves the pitching position for 1 pitch — he cannot return as a pitcher for the remainder of the game. IF THIS RULE IS VIOLATED , THE GAME GOES BACK TO THE POINT BEFORE THE VIOLATION.

  1. No dropped 3rd strike for 9U. In the fall we play dropped 3rd strike.
  2. Pitching sheets will be picked up at the concession stand closest to the field you are playing on. They will be filled out by both teams and then dropped off at the same concession stand .
  3. Any rule or interpretation of any ruling that the Manager of a team wants to protest, requires a $200.00 cash deposit, which is non-refundable unless you win the protest. The director decides all protests.
