TOPIC: EAST VIEW BOWLING

Congratulations to the EVHS Boys Bowling Team! The boys finished the season in 3rd place and they are advancing to Regionals. The members of the boys’ team are Clayton Arnold, Diego Cavazos, Drake Finney, Isaiah Greene, Roger Lopez, Connor Oxner, Evan Revell, Dylan Sanchez and MichaelThornton.

Congratulations also to Annie Leihardt and Dylan Sanchez who qualified for individuals at Regionals and made the All-District Team.

TOPIC: EAST VIEW SOCCER– SENIOR NIGHTS

Join us at the EVHS Stadium, as we honor our awesome graduating seniors. Come cheer on our talented teams in their final home games of the season.

  • On Tuesday, 3/8, the Girls play Cedar Park. Senior Night ceremony begins after pre-game warm-ups. (Boys are at Cedar Park.)
  • On Friday, 3/11, the Boys play Marble Falls. Senior Night ceremony begins after pre-game warm-ups. (Girls are at Marble Falls.)

TOPIC: SOULS FOR SHOES

Soles for Souls Shoe Drive:Do you have shoes that you don’t want anymore? The EV Student Council is collecting shoes for Soles 4 Souls, a nonprofit organization that gives shoes to those in need across the country and across the world. Bring your gently used shoes to the collection boxes in the cafeteria, front office, or room 207. Donate shoes from now until spring break!

TOPIC: SPANISH CLUB PULSERA SALE

The Spanish Club is conducting the 3rd annual Pulsera Sale to raise money for The Pulsera Project, an organization that gives jobs and aid to well-deserving shelters, schools, and young artisans in Nicaragua. The sale runs through Thursday, Mar. 10th. The pulseras (bracelets) are $5 and the bolsitas (little purses) are $10 and are being sold during all lunches. Each is unique and handmade by a young adult who grew up in a shelter and now works in the artisan co-op while studying to earn a postsecondary degree.

TOPIC: DRIVERS ED

The next class for driver education will start on March 28th, AM class only. To sign up Mr. Swain will need your first and last name and which school you attend. Use email or phone to sign up: or 5129435100 ext7064. Also - GISD WILL NO LONGER OFFER THE DRIVING PART.

TOPIC: KINDNESS MATTERS

Lady Sophie Winkleman, British television star, once said, “Try to exercise gentleness, kindness, and humor and you cannot go wrong.” This week’s Kindness Challenge is to help someone for free and without expecting anything in return. Offer to babysit or walk your neighbor’s dog, then surprise them by not charging anything!!

TOPIC: SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Seniors, if you attended Pickett Elementary, you could receive a $500 scholarship. Please go by the counseling office to pick up an application. The deadline to apply is: April 1st.
  • Seniors, the Hewlett Scholarship is now being offered to two people through the Shared application process. If you have not completed a shared application and are interested in this scholarship, please come to the counseling office.
  • Seniors, the Charles, Lela and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship is available. Please go by the counseling department to find out about the criteria. This application must be submitted on-line. The deadline is April 1st.
  • The El Amistad Club Scholarship application is available in the counseling office. The scholarship deadline is March 15th.
  • The American Legion Post 174scholarship application is in the counseling office. The deadline for submission is: April 1st.
