Microsoft Innovative Educators Leadership Awards (MIELA) 2015 is a national contest instituted by Microsoft to create a platform for expression of innovative ideas of educators in India. This contest was launched in the year 2014 to honour the best classroom innovators from K12 & HED across the country by highlighting, recognizing, and rewarding educators who are using technology in amazing ways.

E2 – Global Educator Exchange
The E2 – Educator Exchange in Redmond, WA was held on April 28 – May 1stfor the first time at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. The audience includedof well over 400 participants from 87 different countries.included 250 K12 innovative educators, 30 Microsoft Student Ambassadors, special guests from the WIPTTE group and the IT Academy Summit. Bravery, Courage, and Leadership in the context of education was the theme of E2.
During the event, the Indian educators along with 6 students from 3 showcase schools learned about the latest innovations in education and how to apply those technologies into their lesson plans. They also got an insight into the future technologies and how they will support learning, and received product trainings facilitated by subject matter experts on Skype, OneNote, Office 365, Office Mix, OneNote, Sway, Minecraft, and a lot more.
Student Track
The Student Ambassador group included 27 students from 7 countries and 14 schools worldwide at E2. During the conference, tThe Student Ambassadors also worked collaboratively creating a community of international student leaders from our Showcase Schools.

FICCI Higher Education Summit 2014
Microsoft was the silver sponsor for the FICCI’s Higher Education Summit. The inaugural session saw the participation of SmritiIrani, HRD Minister, and Nikki Randhawa, Governor, South Carolina. Dr. Vinnie Jauhari, Director – Education Advocacy, Microsoft India delivered a separate session on Excellence in Higher Education with a perspective from Academics and Industry.
Dubai Global Forum | 22-23 February 2015
The Global Forum in Dubai from 22-23 February, enabled by Microsoft, was a chance for education stakeholders to discuss how technology can address key challenges in Education for the 21st Century. Education Leaders, School Leaders, Innovation Partners and Stakeholders from International Organizations and NGOs engaged in work sessions on preparing Learners for Work and Life in the 21st Century. Eve Psalti, Microsoft Director Worldwide Education, Brad Tipp, Microsoft Chief Technology Officer, Worldwide Education and James Bernard, Microsoft Director Education Partners represented Microsoft education at the event.
The audience of well over 500 included K12 and Vocational innovative educators, school leaders, partners, NGOs, government officials and media from nearly 40 countries across the Middle East, Africa and India.
