LIFESTAGE CLASSES

@ 9:30am

ADULT

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13 – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18

Think of the people you meet each day: Your family, co-workers, running partner, hairdresser, or even the guy sitting by himself at the coffee shop at lunch. Of all the people who cross your path - some known to you well, some hardly at all - is there a single one of them who doesn’t need to know and follow Jesus?

Of course the answer is "No." But if you’re like most Christians, you feel overwhelmed and inadequate when it comes talking to people around you about the Gospel. We're unsure where to start and what to say, and more than a little fearful that we will make fools of ourselves.

We feel that it would be beneficial to set aside time this fall/winter in our Sunday 9:30AM Adult LifeStageClass to think how we as individuals and as a church can be more intentional in our efforts to tell others around us about Jesus. There is no perfect approach that works for everyone, but this is a place to build on.

We’ll be using a book called,“Six Steps to Talking about Jesus,” which includes six interactive sessions, which we’ll look together at topics like:

• Why should we reach out to others?

• What is the Gospel?

• How to we depend on God?

• How to solve the problem of 'But I hardly know any non-Christians'.

• How to invite people to take positive steps towards knowing Jesus.

• How to tell your own story of what God has done for you in Jesus.

• How to explain the gospel of Jesus in a simple way.

If you have already engaged in evangelistic training at some point in your faith journey, this is another structure to have in your mind for engaging others in spiritual conversations.

This class will include DVD clips and small group interaction.

PRAYER & WORSHIP

EVERY TUESDAY • 6:30 PM

“My house shall be a house of prayer.”- Luke 19:46

“HELP NEEDED”

Chris Kessler has brought to us an opportunity to serve through the Servants, Inc.A caseworker from the York Area Office on Aging contacted the Servants looking for help in cleaning a 3rd floor apartment of an elderly man in York. They need help to remove trash and furniture from the apartment. A hoarding-type of situation, so it’s unknown how much time would be involved. No family or financial ability to pay anyone to help.

Servantsare asking forindividuals or a team from Cityviewwho would adopt this project. They have an agency in York that will come in and help him maintain his home after it is cleaned out. If you would be willing to help, please contact Chris Kesser (a.s.a.p.) at 495-7232.
