Our Northampton Cathedral Development Campaign received a boost recently with the news that work could soon begin on the new Cathedral Centre as early as July. Canon Mark Floody, Dean of the Cathedral, announced that having raised a magnificent £2.4 million, the Diocese is confident to authorise thebeginning of the building project. To watch Canon Mark’s presentation, go tonorthamptoncathedral.org and navigate to the homily of 4th February.

Also, “Live Streaming” is available now. This means anyone can watch Masses and ceremonies at our Cathedral from their own home via the Cathedral website.

Children’s Church. At the start of the 10.15am Mass, Fr invites all children in school years Reception, 1,2 and 3 to gather and head off to their own liturgy of the word. It is not a crèche, but rather mirrors the liturgy in church, but in a more child-friendly manner. The children return at the offertory. Our thanks to the leaders who enable us to offer this liturgy which is so popular with the children.

Our Lady’s Catholic School. We thank everyone in our school for all their hard work. This has been recognised in this month’sOfsted report. Our School is “Good” in all areas. Well done to Mrs Hayes, Headteacher and all the staff, students, governors and parents. Well done! We are all very proud.

See the entire report online. Here are just some of the Ofsted comments:

This is a good school. The headteacher, through her strong leadership, has created a team who are committed to her vision. Members of the governing body are experienced and committed to the school; they understand their roles and responsibilities well. Teaching is good; teachers are enthusiastic and relationships are positive. As a result, pupils have positive attitudes to learning. Pupils behave well. Leaders and governors ensure the school’s safeguarding arrangements are effective. Pupils say they feel safe.Parents and carers are overwhelmingly positive about the school.

Catechism Classes continue on Monday, 6pm-7pm in the church.
