Job Purpose

To take ownership and lead in the secure design, delivery and ongoing maintenance of technology environments of new programmes of work, that meets and/or exceeds functional, technical and security requirements.

Main Duties

The main duty of this role is to work with IT delivery, security and support teams to ensure new products and technologies are integrated/configured/secured in line with IT architectural principles, policies and best practice relating to new and existing environments within the Admiral Technology estate. You will be working with architects, analysts, developers, engineers, SMEs, BAs and project managers to ensure this occurs in a controlled and timely manner.

Security duties will also include the completion of testing to confirm that agreed security requirements have been adopted, and to conduct vulnerability scans using tools such as Nessus to identify infrastructure and application vulnerabilities requiring remediation.

In addition to this you will also proactively manage and address any risk issues relating to your assigned duties. You will be expected to complete your duties whilst conforming to any project timelines or service level agreements that are in place.

Other duties include:

  • Design, build and maintain enterprise technology environments.
  • Provide timely and accurate estimates for assigned tasks.
  • Research new technologies and function as a subject matter expert.
  • Diligently share knowledge with others through teaching and/or mentoring.
  • Act as a point of technical referral or provide 3rd Line Technical Support, where appropriate.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with customers and technical partners.
  • Produce or contribute to detailed documentation for existing or new environments and services.
  • Provide project briefings for Management.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a customer facing support department.
  • Experience in using the following technologies:
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft Exchange Server and Windows platform
  • Bluecoat or similar
  • Linux platform
  • iSeries
  • Nessus
  • NMap

Essential:

  • Experience of vulnerability scan management.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge & Experience of working within security standards PCI, ISO27001 etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to conduct internal reviews and analysis using a best practise approach.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • To be CEH certified.
