JOB TITLE: / Playgroup Assistant
SALARY: / £7.50 per hour
HOURS: / 8 hours per week, term time only to be worked 8 am – 9 am (Mon, Tues Thurs & Fri), 2 pm – 3pm (Mon, Thurs & Fri), 1 pm – 2pm (Tues)
Autumn term only afternoons will be 12.10pm-3pm (Mon, Thurs & Fri)

1.JOB PURPOSE

  • To support the Playgroup in the day to day running and development of the Childcare facilities.
  1. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To set up play equipment as directed by the Playgroup Leader.
  • To use own initiative when appropriate in setting up the room according to the planned activities for the day.
  • To tidy away equipment at the end of the play session.
  • To check contents of play equipment and ensure all parts are stored together, locating missing items as required.
  • To ensure items are stored correctly and adhere to health and safety standards.
  • To highlight any broken or poorly maintained equipment.
  • To participate in staff meetings and training
  • To be involved with fund-raising activities as appropriate.
  • To be flexible to the needs of the Playgroup
  • To ensure that all health and safety instructions are followed in line with the Playgroup’s Health and Safety polices.
  • To promote equality and diversity and safeguarding and implement the Playgroup’s Equality and Diversity Policy and Safeguarding Policy.

/ Previous experience in a Playgroup setting.
Previous experience of lifting and carrying loads and objects
