Subject: Pulse 2012 Educational Training Proposal

I would like to attend Pulse 2012 from March 4- 7, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last year, Pulse featured 400 presentations on service and operations management topics. This year, Pulse will feature even more client-driven sessions serving as proof points of IBM's Integrated Service Management platform. The sessions will be user, business, and industry oriented and directly applicable to my work on the <project(s) you are working on> project.

The conference includes in-depth technical training sessions, demonstrations of the latest service and asset management solutions we use to run our business, and hands-on labs and certification. Pulse will also provide networking opportunities with thousands of my industry peers. It's a great opportunity for me to gain first-hand insights on <name specific products interested in> from breakout sessions, keynotes and one-on-one meetings with IBM executives and industry experts.

I am seeking <your company’s> sponsorship for the registration fee, travel expenses including hotel accommodations and meals during my stay in Las Vegas for the conference. The total training expense for the Pulse 2012 is $1,995, an incredible value considering the comprehensive array of technical topics, which you can review at www.ibm.com/pulse. <Note that if you present a session your registration is complimentary.>

In addition to the core conference agenda, Pulse offers optional post-conference training for an additional fee. These additional educational opportunities include <the post-conference training that covers technology you use> that is directly applicable to the <project(s) you are working on> project. The fee for this post conference training is <cost of the chosen sessions>.

The detailed cost breakdown is listed in the following paragraph.

<Review the numbers in brackets below and adjust them to reflect the current pricing. Travel costs will vary and should be changed to reflect your costs.>

The basic registration cost to attend is $1,995. If I register prior to December 16, 2011, I am eligible for a $500 discount. <Note that if you present a session your registration is complimentary.>

<You will need to insert your travel expenses here.>

Here is an approximate breakdown of conference costs:

Airfare: <add flight expenses>

Transportation: <add actual, estimate $50 taxi ride one-way to airport>

Hotel: <add actual, average $209 or 259 each night stay>

Meals: <add actual, average $40 per day stipend>

Educational Seminar Fee: <Specify post-conference class and include correct cost>

Conference Fee: < $1495 – Early Bird registration discount if registering by December 16. $1995 after December 16. >

The total travel costs are <add your estimated figure>. Adding this to the conference fee and educational seminar fee, the total conference cost is <add your estimated figure>.

Pulse presents an opportunity for me to enhance my skills in <technology areas of interest> while strengthening contacts in the industry. My attendance at this conference will be a professional investment, which will support streamlined practices, tested solutions, and a network of peers to call upon.

I will submit a trip report post-conference that will include a brief seminar summary, major takeaway concepts, techniques or tips, and action items for each of the sessions that I attended during the conference. In addition, I will circulate the conference proceedings and can give brief presentations to departmental colleagues or other technical groups within <your company name here>.

I look forward to your reply.
