Job Title:London Fundraising Assistant

Hours of work: 40 hours a week

Duration:permanent

Salary:£19,000 per annum

Location:London Head Office

Introduction:

Interpal is a non-political, non-profit making British charity that works with international funding partners and partners on the ground to provide relief and development aid to Palestinians in need, mainly in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and the refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan.

Job Purpose:

To work as Fundraising Assistant to maximise the donations for the charity, with a focus on excellent donor care. To promote and achieve the aims and objective of Interpal as a British charitable organisation committed to helping Palestinians in need. To actively promote Interpal and to raise awareness of the plight of poor and needy Palestinians. To increase Interpal income each year. To ensure forward planning and efficient execution of Interpal’s fundraising campaigns. To maintain good relations with mosque management committees, funding institutions, organisations, partner NGOs and the community in general.

The post holder will ensure the department is manned and provide an effective service to our donors. The role has elements of administration and FR support as agreed with the manager.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring the best use of volunteers/casual workers; putting in action a plan to cooperate with the current volunteer coordinator
  • To visit mosques and other community organisations to build a one-to-one personal relationship
  • To organise and manage the collection boxes distribution in the region
  • To organise and manage the street collections through volunteers/casual workers.
  • To lead the Mobile team and prepare for, co-ordinate and make collections
  • To coordinate the setting up and manning of Interpal stalls and exhibitions at Interpal’s own or outside events.
  • To organise events and collections throughout the year.
  • To implement commercial strategies with head of department through visiting businesses to raise funds.
  • To contact and visit relevant organisations and individuals in order to introduce the work of Interpal with a view to obtain.
  • To research and capitalise on public events/functions
  • To research and capitalise on opportunities presented by regional/local radios and newspapers
  • To be responsible for researching and informing the head of department about tools and resources required.
  • To assist the FR manager for the planning and implementation of the Ramadan and ‘Eid al-Adha Collection Campaigns in the region.
  • To work in accordance with a pre-agreed budget for all expenses
  • To carry any other duties as might be reasonably required

Qualifications /
  • Good level of education.

  • Related FR, business qualification

Knowledge
& Experience /
  • Working in customer focused role.
  • At least one years experience in a similar role.

  • Relevant experience in the charity sector.
