District Commissioner Report Kerrie Masters

April 3rd 2016- Rally Day;

Wednesday prior to the April rally 27 riders sent their RSPV for rally day, by Friday 42 riders had RSPV confirming their attendance. Forty-two (42) riders turned up, some who had not replied others who replied and did not turn up which made grouping difficult.

Please reply out of courtesy to your rally planner’s DC and committee members and other club members

The rally was very busy at the beginning of the day due to riders wanting to swap groups and no committee members available for the day. Our DC Kerrie tried to accommodate rider’s requests which appeared to work until lunch time; people left early leaving small groups, swapping groups this caused instructors booked without any riders.

Speed to time out on the racecourse; Thanks to Julie Grace for helping out our riders in explaining the whole concept of Speed to Time.

Well done to all of those parents who stayed back and helped Pack, Clean up after the rally fantastic effort.

Works in Progress: Raise the roof funds to establish a new sand arena with an all-weather roof for all equestrian sports. All user groups are trying to raise funds for this project.

Our first calendar fundraising night a planned trivia night on June the 4th at the Glass House Benalla community centre at the show grounds

D & C Certificate groups to commence again; D Certificate from 8 – 12yrs

C certificate of all children over 12yrs see our DC Kerrie at the next rally.

Club Fees: Payment due now and until the 30th May 2016

Junior member 17yrs and under early bird price; $270.00

For a senior members above 17yrs – early bird price; $275.00

The insurance component per junior member 17yrs and $130.00

Senior member insurance component is $155.00

The increase costs are due to the Insurance component going up, the club has no control of this cost. Costs for our club to provide top level instructors for our riders is $1000.00 to $1300.00 per rally.

The canteen profits are not able to completely cover these costs. The current committee is making every effort to absorb the increase as much as possible. The extra money is coming out of the funds raised throughout the year from event’s held at BPC grounds.

At this time of year when fees are due and increased costs realised, we need to advise family’s that effort is required for our pony club to continue at the high standard being set. It means each family involved in Benalla Pony Club; contribute in some way to assist you child’s club.

There are many selfless workers already within our club on the committee or parents, supporters, life members. Often their work does go unnoticed as it is their own time given their own equipment used to improve the grounds, continued ongoing maintenance of what is already in place. For these people our club member’s thank you for support.
