AREA 13 FUN QUIZ

To be held at: RUSSELLS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, NEW PLACE, ALLINGTON LANE, WEST END, SOUTHAMPTON S030 3HQ

On Tuesday 2nd January, 2018 starting at 10.30am till approx.. 1.00pm.

This is being organised to encourage branches and centres to have a go at the Quiz and to provide practice for the NFU Quiz qualifier on Sunday 4th February, 2018. The questions will be on the topics for 2018.

The quiz will consist of 10 rounds of questions and the topics for 2018 are:

Round 1:The Pony Club around the world

Round 2:Name that system

Round 3:Cause & Effect – Conformation

Round 4:Alphabet Soup – General equine knowledge

Round 5:What is this? – Points of horse & Skeleton

Round 6:Diseases (Pairs – Juniors and Seniors)

Round 7:Practical Round – The Tack Room (individual)*

Round 8:Abbreviations – e.g. TPC = The Pony Club

Round 9:Before & After – e.g. Show **** Worm = Show Ring Worm

Round 10:Picture Round – Venue & Event – United Kingdom

* the practical round (The Tack Room), is an individual round, so discussion between team members is not allowed.

Teams will be made up of:

• 1 Member 12 years & under

• 1 Member 14 years & under

• 1 Member 16 years & under

• 1 Member of any age

All ages will be taken from the 1st January 2018.

N.B. A Team may consist of four Members under the age of 12 if you wish. In this instance, the Team will be asked to nominate which Member will answer the more advanced questions. One AH Test holder in each Team is allowed to take part in each National Quiz Team.

The PC Quiz books can be obtained online from the main PC website where you can also find sample questions from this year’s competition. There will be a nominal entry fee of £10 to cover rosettes, costs etc. and refreshments will be available to purchase.
