Adaptive Delta Management Solutions

Monday 24th August2015

16:00-17:30

ROOM:NL Auditorium/Aulan.

River deltas worldwide face a unique set of challenges in the framework of sustainable development. They confront the obstacles of climate change, industrialization and population growth within areas that are geographically vulnerable, yet are enormously important for all three pillars of sustainable development: environmentally, economically and socially.

The Delta Coalition is launched by a group of national governments with the aim to:

-improving the day-to-day lives of inhabitants of deltas through the exchange of experiences

and promoting co-operation;

- furthering the importance of deltas in the global discussions on sustainable development;

- facilitating a science-policy interface on delta issues.

Learn from the experiences of some of those countries and participate in the discussion on the future activities of the Delta Coalition.
