Re: Nominations for the Developmental Disabilities Division Steering Committee

On behalf of Ron Cretaro, and Steering Committee Co-Chairs Mary Pat DeCarlo and James (Jim) Morrison, I would like to express our appreciation to all committee members who have given so generously of their time and expertise.
The elections are upon us! We are currently in the process of developing a slate of nominees for the 2012/2013 DD Division Steering Committee. There will be five available positions pertaining to the terms that expire in October, 2012. We are also seeking your nominations for one Co-Chair, to serve alongside returning Co-Chair, Jim Morrison. (Please refer to the attached committee status list, and list of responsibilities.)
If you are interested in serving on the committee or know of someone that you would like to nominate, simply complete the bottom portion of this nomination ballot. You may e-mail the electronic form to me at R you may fax the form to me at 860.525.5088. In addition, please let me know if you are interested in participating as a member of the nominating committee!!
Please return your nomination no later than Monday, October 8th. This will allow time for the nominating committee to review candidates, and prepare ballots for elections, which will take place during the DD Division Meeting on October 18th.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation! (You are welcome to nominate more than one individual – INCLUDING YOURSELF! In an effort to assure an opportunity for new members to participate, retiring committee members are asked to take a one-year leave, prior to re-joining the Steering Committee.)

Developmental Disabilities Division Steering Committee:
Anticipated Member Responsibilities - 3 Year Terms
Participate in monthly Developmental Disabilities Division Meetings on a regular basis.
Participate as needed in DDS Trades Meetings/Webcasts, Work Groups, Task Forces, Committees and other meetings with DDS on behalf of CT Nonprofits.
Attend CT Nonprofits’ Annual Meeting and/or Legislative Reception.
Provide timely response to requests for feedback, review of documents, provide opinions on issues.
Maintain communication with colleagues, to increase members’ input and enhance the Committee’s ability to serve effectively.
Please Note: Steering Committee Members receive the right of “first refusal”
with regard to Ct Nonprofits’ representation to ad-hoc committees.
