Title: Volunteer Co-Ordinator Floating Support Team (Supporting People)

Location:Ty Davies, Tawe Business Village, Enterprise Park, Swansea

Hours:28 Hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is until the 31 March 2016 in the first instance

Salary:£20,400 p.a. pro rata (actual£16,319 per annum)

Reporting to: ACSB Floating Support Manager (Supporting People)

Annual leave:26 days pro rata and customary bank holidays

Travel Expenses:45p per mile plus 5p per passenger

The post is subject to a probationary period of 6 months and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced D.B.S. disclosure. If this contract is terminated by yourself before the expiry of the probationary period, the cost of the DBS will be deducted from your final monthly pay.

Purpose of the Post

To ensure that volunteer befrienders are available as part of the floating support service offered to clients who meet the agreed criteria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To match assessed clients with volunteer befrienders to meet the needs agreed in the client support plan.
  • To manage the induction and supervision of volunteer befrienders, including a 6 weekly induction meeting, a 6 monthly telephone review and an annual review in compliance with the ACSB volunteer supervision procedure.
  • To ensure that we maintain volunteer befriending capacity against the agreed annual target, liaising with the volunteer recruitment officer when required to recruit new volunteers.
  • To ensure that any identified training needs for volunteers are met and that all volunteers complete any mandatory training and are strongly encourage to complete any voluntary training to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • To instruct all volunteers on when to visit the client, ensuring they understand the agreed support plan and activities necessary to meet the outcomes.
  • To manage the receipt of client records from all volunteers, ensuring that Charity Log records are accurate and kept up to date at all times.
  • To liaise with the management team and visiting assistants to ensure the client support plans are relevant and effective, feeding back any key information from volunteers to drive delivery where required.
  • To update volunteers on any changes to a client’s support plan ensuring that they are clear on the outcomes required and activities they are being asked to complete.
  • To ensure that a Risk Assessment has been completed prior to any volunteer visiting and the volunteer is aware of any key information required to manager their personal health and safety or that of the client.
  • To ensure that all volunteer records are maintained and accurate on Charity Log
  • To ensure that there are written procedures for all actions required to manage this role, updating them when necessary to manage a continuous service.
  • To liaise with volunteers for the management team to encourage their involvement in any ACSB activity outside of one on one befriending
  • To write the content for Baywatch on the befriending service
  • To attend SCVS volunteer forum and other volunteering events as directed by the management team
  • To ensure that volunteering is compliant with the Investing in Volunteering quality standard achieved by ACSB
  • To act as part of the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Floating Support Service offering advice where required to members of the team to manage a client enquiry or to ensure that agreed outcomes are achieved for clients.
  • To offer good quality advice and information to clients demonstrating compliance with the Age UK Advice Quality Mark.
  • To assist the Manager in the production of monitoring reports as directed.
  • To attend external meetings and report accordingly as directed, promoting the service effectively and the other services delivered by ACSB.
  • To produce accurate client records through electronic record keeping (Charity Log) in accordance with the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Data Protection Policy.
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Confidentiality Policy.
  • To safeguard adults in accordance with the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Adult Safeguarding Policy.
  • To manage effective working relationships with key agencies across the region to facilitate the referral process
  • To participate in continuous training and development opportunities
  • To provide accurate and regular claims for travel and subsistence costs in accordance with Age Cymru Swansea Bay’s HR policies and procedures
  • To comply with the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Health and Safety policies and procedures, including the Lone Working Policy and Smoking Policy
  • To ensure that the service is delivered in accordance with the Age Cymru Swansea Bay Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination policies and procedures
