Instructions/ Procedures:
In the book How Tia Lola Came to (Visit) Stay, Miguel becomes stressed because of everything he is going through. His parents got a divorce, he doesn’t have any friends, children are making fun of him, and he is worried his aunt will make him look even weirder. Baseball seems to help Miguel the most when it comes to relieving stress. In this activity the students will discuss and draw their own stress relievers.
Start out by explaining that a stress reliever is something that you do that makes you happy and carefree. After explaining what a stress reliever is everyone will think of a stress reliever that they do. Each student will then draw a picture of them partaking in the stress reliever and then write a page about what it is they do for a stress reliever and why they like to do it.
