Text:

As oil and gas projects grow in complexity the information needed to manage them grows too. Work and data flows are still document-based.

Camera zooms back into paper stacks still growing above the plant. Camera follows this growing stream upwards. Data stream arrives at group of engineers who manually turn the data into emails.Camera zooms in. People appear passing documents in emails. Emails appear a bit chaotic, flying off in all directions and back again. Some people drown in emails.

Text:

Finding, extracting and analysing information is an inefficient manual process. For projects with typically hundreds of thousands of documents this is no longer acceptable or affordable; this is where ProjectVantage comes in.

Around the people the seven components of ProjectVantage appear. The seven tools flash up. In the center a data stream appears and data is added.

ProjectVantage enables Shell and contractors to work more collaboratively by unlocking readily available data and putting it to work. It improves business productivity and enables replication so projects can start up faster by reusing designs.

The data stream in the center multiplies like a cell division. Centre image appears with engineers collaborating. Camera zooms in on scene.Into the next phase the data turns into components. Engineers are inserting modular elements into the construction site

A person is working on a diagram and someone else is working on a 3D model with data flowing between these two images to and from a central database.Exception report appears. The engineers remove some of the growing drawing from the screen after the warning sign comes on.The engineer uses the 3D model to highlight multiple areas of the plant simultaneously in the model. At the same time the gantt chart bars decrease into multiple shorter streams.

The green colour is used to show link with bar charts. – different starting and finishing points – moving further to the right as it goes down.

A warning sign appears due to an engineering changing part of the model. A worker stops work and waits..

The engineer’s manager approaches, stops the change, restores the original design.

The change flashes green and the worker then carries on working. The progress bar of the element being installed finishes. The operator shows on the pop up and a shortening construction schedule. Checklists show complete with a green tick.

Person sitting in front of panel. When he presses the button, the plant turns green.Pop up information screens show people, materials and equipment on construction site

One of the field engineers on the information screen holds up an iPad showing a big green tick on the screen. Zoom into the construction site and show field engineers holding iPads.

Camera zooms in further, showing this project gets stored with other projects.

Text:

Standard templates and vendor data are centrally maintained and reused. Clear competitive scope is controlled through scope freeze exception reports, referencing the early baseline as the design progresses.

The construction management tools visually support work face planning so that work fronts can be optimised safely and efficiently. Via the cloud-based collaborative environment owners and contractors can both spot emerging risks earlier and agree on a strategy to return to plan.

Connecting engineering, construction, and commissioning processes will prevent delays caused by last minute changes. Engineers use the commissioning management component and the vendor catalogue to enable safe and effective commissioning and start-up.

Upon arrival at site critical materials are radio-tagged, making them easier to find, and reducing material surplus. Mobile solutions enable field supervisors to use their time more efficiently, updating central project data from the field.

Camera pans down, engineer is laser scanning the site.

Text:

As-built 2D drawings and 3D models can be validated and updated through laser scans and maintained centrally at low cost centres.

Camera moves from refinery to an operator in front of his screens. A green light flashes and she starts up the refinery.

ProjectVantage enables complete and timely handovers and data maintenance so that operations can say my facilities are safe and I know it.
