TITLE: Parish and Supporter Relations Manager

REPORTS TO: Head of Supporter Relations

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours

The role sit in the Supporter Relations Team which comprises of Head of Supporter Relations, Parish and Supporter Relations Manager, Marketing & Communications Manager, Trust Fundraising Officer and Supporter Relations Administrator. The department report to the Pact CEO and work closely with the Development Team who focus on statutory tenders and commissioning.

We are now looking for a proactive, enthusiastic professional Fundraiser to join our ambitious team and support the growth of income from parishes, individuals, communities and organisations. It’s an exciting time to become part of this warm and friendly team, as we approach a busy period in our fundraising calendar.

Job purpose

As amanager in the team your role will enable us to fulfil our charitable mission and objectives by developing and implementing fundraising initiatives that maximise income and raise awareness of Pacts’ work. The post will lead on engagement with individuals and communities. It will focus on strengthening relationships with current donors and supporters; recruiting new donors, building

upon the bedrock of support within the Catholic community in England and Wales, and increase our presence among other Faith denominations and organisations rooted in the community. The role is responsible for ensuring key systems and processes are in place, leading on our fundraising database (Salesforce) and ensuring compliance with data management and good donor practice. It also has line management responsibility for the Supporter Relations Administrator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1.To support the Head of Supporter Relations in the development and implementation of Pact’s Fundraising strategy.

2.Develop, and maximise income from, new and existing fundraising streams, primarily focusing on strong relationships with the Catholic church, but also including community fundraising, individual giving, direct marketing, regular giving, legacies and a wide range of events.

3.To work with the Head of Supporter Relations to test engagement and support with small Corporates, by assisting in the writing of applications, and pitches for support to community organisations and corporates.

4.To lead on the planning and staging of donor events for fundraising or stewardship purposes, (including the small

number of fundraising challenge events e.g. London Marathon, or major donor events and community initiatives)

5.To work with the Head of Supporter Relations to Create a “compelling case for support” portfolio on Pacts work

6.To oversee the development and design of fundraising literature and promotional materials, with the support and sign

off of the Marketing and Communications Manager.

7.To manage the production of Pact’s donor marketing tools including FreshStartnewsletter, and annual Parish Pack for Prisoners’ Sunday and legacy appeals (printed and on-line) as appropriate.

8.To act as the first point of contact for individual donors and prospects, representatives of Catholic and other parishes, religious communities and other groups.

9.To represent Pact at external events, presentations or talks.

10.To manager the Supporter Relations Administratorand ensure donor information, appeals and communications are recorded accurately on Salesforce database, and sent out in a timely manner.

11.To manage volunteers working within the team and ensure their support and appropriate training.

12.Monitor income generation activity, producing income reports on activity and making the relevant adjust the focus

where required to achieve target income.

13.Liaise with other staff members as required to promote and coordinate fundraising activity.

14.Ensure fundraising standards are met at all times and conform to the requirements of the Fundraising Regulator.

15.To work holistically as part of the Pact team to encourage volunteering, gifts in kind, and other forms of support.

16.To partake positively in regular supervision and support meetings with the Head of Supporter Relations.

17.To contribute to Team meetings and plans, Central Office team meetings, and other cross team meetings as needed.

18.When working within a prison environment, to have due regard for matters relating to prisons security anddiscipline.

19.To undertake training as required.

20.To undertake any other relevant duties commensurate to the post.

The role does require an ability to work flexible hours, sometimes attending evening meetings or weekend events, it will from time to time require travel and overnight stays to meetings across England and Wales.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Education / Good standard of education with strong literacy and numeracy.
Professional Fundraising training or qualifications
Willingness to take responsibility for personal development and training and a positive attitude towards learning, and sharing knowledge, ideas and expertise with colleagues.
An awareness of some of the key issues facing prisoners, ex-offenders, and prisoners’ children and families.
Good research skills including use of internet. / 

Skills and Abilities / Experience of working in a fundraising team, leading on income generation streams. With a Proven track record in generating income
Effective face-to-face interaction and relationship-building with a wide range of people.
Proven strong verbal and written communication
Work on own initiative as well as being an active member of the team.
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise workload, plan ahead and achieve deadlines.
Experience of project managing successful fundraising initiatives such as appeals, direct mails, events or campaigns.
Experience of providing excellent stewardship and donor care
Excellent telephone manner, able to present a warm, friendly, but efficient and professional image of the charity.
Knowledge of production processes for publications and literature, and dealing with printing and mailing houses.
Good IT skills and familiarity with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Explorer MS Office packages, CRM databases
Familiarity with graphic design software, preferably Photoshop, Quark and MS Publisher skills.
Basic understanding of the mechanisms for tax-efficient giving, gift aid etc.
Knowledge of Data protection issues surrounding donor data
Knowledge of the structure and workings of the Catholic Church.
Ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately with donors and supporters from parishes whose support for the charity is motivated by faith and Catholic teaching.
Ability to present to a variety of audiences to support the work of the charity
Demonstrable interest in criminal justice issues.

All Pact posts are subject to a 6 month probationary period. Pact operates a flexitime system.
