Objectives of the survey: The primary objectives of the study were: to monitor the determinants of poverty and its dynamics; to provide the Gambia Government and other policy makers and planners with the necessary socio-economic data for poverty monitoring and policy formulation; to update the basket and weights for the Consumer Price Index (CPI); and to provide the necessary data to estimate and update various aggregates in the System of National Accounts (SNA).
