  1. Paper preparation

Use Times New Roman 12 pt, single-line spacing, do not emphasize text (except headings), i.e. bold type and underlining should be avoided. Tables and figures should never overlap pages. Use Times New Roman 12 pt, single-line spacing, do not emphasize text (except headings), i.e. bold type and underlining should be avoided. Tables and figures should never overlap pages and they must be mentioned in the text of the paper.

Always state the source of tabulations and figures. Examples are shown under Table 1 and Figure 1. If a table or a figure are not borrowed from literature, please state "Source: the author" or "Source: the authors" and avoid stating the data that served in creating the tabular or graphical output. The data and their source should be in full described in the text. Other examples may be: "Source: adapted from Greene (2008, p. 101)" or "Source: Appendix A in National Bank of Slovakia (2012)".

The preferable font for tables is Times New Roman of size 12 or 10. Nevertheless, the font size may be further reduced so that a table fits the page.

Table 1:Font sizes of headings. Table captions should always be positioned above the tablesand justified (i.e. aligned from the left margin to the right one)

Heading level / Font size and style
Title (centered) / 14 point, bold
1st-level heading / 12 point, bold
2nd-level heading / 12 point, bold

2.1Figures

Line drawings should have a resolution of at least 800 dpi (preferably 1200 dpi).Graphs have to be black and white (halftones). If you send coloured figures that are to be printed in black and white, please make sure that they really are legible in black and white. 2.2Formulas

Displayed equations or formulas are centered and set on a separate line. Displayed expressions should be numbered for reference. The numbers should be consecutivewithin the contribution, with numbers enclosed in parentheses and set on the right margin. When writing your equations between lines, please copy this sample equation line and then adjust it according to your needs. You must not use the Equation facility of Microsoft ® Word 2007/2010/2013.Instead, equations may be written directly or using the older Microsoft Equation 3 capability (Insert/Object/Microsoft Equation 3). You are required to keep your formatting of mathematical symbols consistent throughout the text of your paper; otherwise, you will be asked to kindly repair your notation. Each equation must be numbered on the right margin and integrated into the text (by a prior introduction and followed by an appropriate punctuation) as it is demonstrated in the following example: "This equation is used to demonstrate the addition operation:

/ (1)

where and are two summands and is their sum." Please copy and paste the equation line and use it in this way in your paper. When done correctly, the numbering should be automatically updated.

2.3Citations

Please use author (year, pages) in active referencing or (author, year, pages) in passive referencing in the text. An example of active referencing is: "As is defended by Goodhard (2000), this is a substantial factor that should be reflected in banking regulations" and an example of passive referencing is: "Many authors argue (e.g. Greene, 2008; Battese and Coelli, 1992) that this method of estimation is the only viable option". If there are three or more authors, start with the name of the first authors and the other names should be replaced simply by "et al.". An example is: "Zhang et al. (2008) observe that performance of various equity styles is linked with market states and business cycle."

If specific information is subject to referencing, also pages must be declared as in: "... which results in an optimization task that is a Taylor-expansion approximation also to non-exponential utilities (see e.g. Markowitz, 1987, p. 60; Alexander, 2008, pp. 230, 234)". Use the abbreviation "p." when referencing to a particular page, use the abbreviation "pp." for several pages or a range of them. If the entire work is referred to, please drop the page reference. Examples may be "Battese and Coelli (1992, p. 157)" for one page cited, "Greene (2008, pp. 100-102, 109)" for several pages cited or "R Core Team (2017)" for referencing to the entire document.

This method of citing is the Harvard system of referencing. For details please see

In addition, if data for the analysis in the paper are downloaded from the internet or retrieved from an online database, do not include it in the list of references, but confirm this in a footnote providing the full link and the date of retrieval. For example: "The analysis is based on the data sample extracted from the Eurostat database1)." The footnote may then read as follows: "1) Available at (accessed 03-06-2017)." An exception to this rule is data compiled from texts published in print such as reports or yearbooks.

All references enumerated in the list of reference must be incorporated into the text of the paper, and vice versa.

2.4The references section

References have to be formatted following ISO 690 format and alphabetically ordered. If there are more than 2 authors, state the name of the first author and add “et al."More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by sequentially byletters a, b, c, etc., placed directly after the year of publication and used in the same way in citations.Pleasebase your references on the examples below. The required number of references is between 6 and 15. At least 4 references must be from the Web of Science™ Core Collection.

  1. Conclusion

The introduction and the abstract must include the aim of the paper. The conclusion must summarize the content of the paper and show the original contribution of the paper. The conclusion will probably summarize the main findings of the paper and point out directions for further research. Please pay attention to the fact that this is a crucial component of the text of the paper. The introduction and the abstract must include the aim of the paper.
