Title of post:Community & Corporate Fundraiser (pan Wales)

Summary:An exciting opportunity to develop a new role whilst working as part of the established and successful Bobath Wales’ Fundraising team, your focus will be to grow income, PR and support for the charity across Wales

Location: Home-based (outside of South East Wales) but with the capacity to travel to the Centre in Whitchurch, Cardiff frequently *Please note: there is an appropriate expenses budget attached to this post*

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Income Generation and colleagues based at the Centre to formulate the first regional fundraising and marketingplan for the charity to enable the growth of new relationships, income and PR.
  • Identify and develop new relationships with corporate supporters, fundraising groups and high potential individuals.
  • Recruit, manage, and support volunteer fundraisers within the community, helping them to reach their fundraising potential.
  • Lead on researching and securing local charity of the year opportunities, maximising these to generate income and engagement at events, via challenges, and annual campaigns such as Bake 4 Bobath and Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month.
  • Ensure all regional community and corporate supporters are given the highest level of customer care and that all enquiries and requests for support are responded to quickly and effectively.
  • Attend events, give community talks and represent Bobath Wales at cheque presentations or networking events. This will involve giving formal and informal presentations about our work (training will be given) in supporting children who have cerebral palsy. It may also require evening and weekendwork (for which Time Off In Lieu will be given).
  • Work closely with the Communications & Marketing Officer to raise awareness of Bobath Wales through local networking and utilising local media channels to help achieve the team’s press and PR targets.
  • As part of the Bobath Wales Income Generation Team, contribute towards reaching monthly and annual financial targets and key performance indicators, as agreed with the Head of Income Generation. Make recommendations and take action for any activity that is under or over performing in a timely manner.
  • Work within the approved regional fundraising expenditure budget and plans.
  • Produce and monitor monthly phased budgets and report relevant information on an ongoing basis to the Head of Income Generation.
  • Undertake all necessary administrative duties and reports as required. Ensure that supporters feel valued, are thanked promptly, all monies are banked, proper records kept, and details passed to the Operations Team in a timely manner.
  • Keep abreast of local and national third sector competitors within the Community & Corporate Fundraising arena to guarantee competitiveness.
  • Working with relevant colleagues such as the Trusts and Legacies Co-ordinator to ensure a holistic and co-ordinated approach to supporter engagement and development.
  • Attend formal meetings and monthly 1:1s (at the Centre in Whitchurch) with the Head of Income Generation to report on performance against annual objectives. Also, to attend and contribute to regular meetings with other team members and any additional meetings as required – please note: to save time and funds these may sometimes take place via tele or video conferencing.
  • Accurately record appropriate supporter information on the Donor database, adhering to data legislation including the new GDPR laws due to take effect in May 2018.
  • Comply with all legal requirements governing fundraising activity and to act in accordance with all the charity’s policies and procedures, including also the Charity’s Health and Safety requirements and Event Management procedures.
  • Be an ambassador for Bobath Wales in the community, working with colleagues, volunteers and supporters from across the income streams to unlock new opportunities.
  • Adhere to the codes of good and ethical practice set by the Fundraising Regulator.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

Education

Essential / Desirable
Minimum of A Levels / Membership of the Institute of Fundraising Certificate (or working towards)

Knowledge/Experience

Essential / Desirable
Developing sustainable relationships across a board spectrum of audiences / Experience in managing a varied community & corporate fundraising portfolio
Experience of using social media in a professional environment
Demonstrable experience of motivating and inspiring others to act / Record of working successfully with volunteers
Event Management / Event Management in the Third Sector
Proven track record of working to financial targets and KPIs / Previous experience in analysing and reporting on forecasts and budgets
Good geographical knowledge of Wales
Proven record of presenting to varied groups of people

IT literate with good office and administration skills. Confident in the use of all Microsoft Office packages as well as proficient in the use of internet and email / Proficient in the use of a CRM system

Flexible in approach to working patterns and ability to work extra hours as and when required to include weekends and evenings
Physically fit in order to carry equipment and set-up events
Current UK driving licence and the ability to travel to i) Whitchurch, Cardiff at least once a month/at the request of the Head of Income Generation and ii) to locations across your region (to be agreed with the Head of Income Generation)
