The 2005 BACR Annual Conference will take place on Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October

at the

Glasgow Moat House Hotel

Any professional involved in cardiac rehabilitation is invited to submit an abstract of their work for inclusion in the scientific programme.

Abstracts can be submitted under the following categories:

1  Scientific Submission
2  Case Report (focusing around a new/unique technique used for or during rehab of an individual)
3  Clinical Communication (unique aspect to your programme or clinical procedure that contributes to the success of your programme)

NB : This year we are particularly looking for abstracts on the following subjects: - Women and Heart Disease, Heart failure, ICD, Exercise Interventions and Psychological Issues

Submission:

·  Abstract forms must be received no later than Friday 17 June 2005.

·  The BACR Programme Committee will choose the best six abstracts for oral presentation. All other abstracts will be considered for poster presentations.

·  Unless otherwise stated, we will use the address of the first named author for correspondence.

Organising your abstract:

·  Use a short specific title without abbreviations.

·  List first name, middle name and last name of author(s), omitting degrees and titles.

·  Follow with name of institution, city and full postal address of presenting author.

·  Briefly describe the objectives of the study.

·  If pertinent, include a brief statement of methods.

·  Describe in the results sufficient detail to support conclusions.

·  Include a brief statement of conclusion. Statements such as “the findings will be discussed “are not acceptable.

·  Formulas should be avoided. Use generic drug names. Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Other abbreviations must be placed in parentheses after the full world at first mention in the body of the abstract.

·  Abstract must not exceed the space provided on the abstract form.
