SALARY: National Minimum Wage; 30 hours per week, fixed term 6 months (26 weeks).

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Intern post will be part of the busy Learning Team, supporting events and activities and focusing on the marketing and promotion of the Learning Programme. Gaining new skills and experiences, the post will work alongside the Learning Team and have the opportunity to put into practice skills learnt from the Communications Team. Developing knowledge and understanding the Intern will build on their excellent communication and ICT skills and learn how to apply them to promote the range of opportunities available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Participate in shadowing opportunities within the Company to develop knowledge and skills

·  Provide admin and delivery support for Learning activities to familiarise with the programme

·  Work with the Communications Team to promote Learning activity via social media, mail shots and pro-actively approaching potential interested groups

·  Regularly draft content for Learning newsletters and blogs including writing copy

·  Regularly capture photos/film footage of Learning events to document the activity and support promotion

·  Regularly update listings and online forums/networks, such as Breeze Culture Network, Mums Net, with details of the Learning Programme’s activities

·  Draft in-house flyers/leaflets to promote Learning activities as and when required

·  Maintain a database of contacts including groups such as schools, local history groups, specialist interest groups and audiences with sensory impairments to disseminate promotional material

·  Ensure that all promotional material in relation to the Learning Programme is stocked within our venues

·  Research relevant sector publications to identify potential Learning stories

·  Develop and maintain a spreadsheet of feedback and evaluative comments received from learning participants to aid the team in planning future activities

·  Regularly collate and archive press cuttings

·  Adhere to the Company’s policies, including that for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, following health and safety procedures

·  Maintain appropriate standards of personal conduct so that the Company’s reputation is not put at risk

·  Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post, attend meetings and events outside of the theatre and sometimes outside of normal office hours

·  To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required by the company and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

·  This role requires some evening and weekend work
