Overview:

Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s Community Team are looking to recruit a Cricket Development Officer with a dedicated focus on supporting recreational cricket clubs and leagues within Leicestershire and Rutland. The Clubs and Leagues officer would form part of the LCCC Community team and report directly into the LCCC Head of Community Development.

Job Description:

- Provide dedicated support to affiliated cricket clubs, ensuring retention and growth is a key priority in club development plans.

- To support leagues in developing and delivering plans based on meeting the changing needs of players and the game.

- To work collaboratively with the Workforce Development Officer to ensure that workforce plans are aligned with club development plans and that the paid and voluntary workforce is identified and trained to effectively retain and grow the game.

- To work collaboratively with the strategic lead for LCCC Schools programme to ensure an integrated young players offer increases transition from school to club environment.

- To support club junior sections develop and deliver traditional and innovative offers which help inspire a lifelong involvement in cricket to retain players within the game.

- To be responsible for developing and delivering ECB campaigns aligned to ‘GET THE GAME ON’, ensuring that we provide a framework of support so that clubs and leagues are provided every opportunity to achieve this.

- To develop a number of customer insight tools to continue to engage, communicate, and consult with our customers, and support the ongoing delivery of the National Player survey.

- To effectively use and embed National Player Survey ‘Dashboard’ to analyse data to ensure that: - clubs, leagues and district development groups have strategic engagement plans in place to deliver retention, growth and satisfaction on and off the field of play.

- To effectively decipher insight and embed the use of surveys, to ensure that key stakeholders , and Game Day decision makers, have strategic engagement plans in place to deliver retention, growth and satisfaction on and off the field of play.

- To provide professional officer support to league exec committees and district development groups to ensure that they are delivering ECB and LCCC Community business priorities.

- Act as lead officer for facility development across county and work in partnership with City Development Officer to ensure parity of grant provision across funding streams, management of EWCT Small Grants and working with identified partners to establish investment priority list is created.

- Provide dedicated support to LCCC Workforce Development Officer around ECB’s Cricket force and OSCA’S initiatives.

- To support the recreational game in achieving maximum financial leverage through the ECB Grant Aiding system (all strands) and provide advice and guidance on external income and grant aiding opportunities.

- Encourage affiliated clubs to use the ECB online club development framework including but not exclusive to Clubmark.

- Develop, manage and oversee the Leicestershire and Rutland U19 T20 initiative

- Work in partnership with identified stakeholders to develop, manage and oversee Leicestershire and Rutland’s club affiliation package.

Criteria / Essential / Desirable
Qualifications/Training /Education:
- Up to date Safeguarding and first aid qualifications
- Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate (DBS) / Y / Y
Experience and Knowledge:
- An understanding of cricket within Leicestershire and Rutland
- Experience and knowledge of Clubmark
- Knowledge and experience of the funding landscape within sport
- Knowledge of ‘Cricket Unleashed’
- Experience of coaching and delivery within a club/community environment
- Understanding of the barriers that exist in terms of participation
- Knowledge and understanding of the key stakeholders within recreational sport / Y
