Responsible To: Dietary Production Manager, Compensation: Hourly

Dietary Office Manager and Cook

Hours: Full Time 5:00 am – 3:00 pm

Part Time Evenings 3:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Function

·  Provide assistance in all dietary functions as instructed and in accordance with Federal, State and Pleasantview policies and procedures and to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

Requirements

·  Good General Health

·  Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.

·  Ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment and supplies throughout the work day.

·  Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.

·  Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties.

·  Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position.

·  Ability to observe proper safety and sanitation techniques.

·  Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning,

·  Pass a Food Safety course.

Responsibilities

·  Operate Dish Machine and log temperatures. Operate various food service equipment.

·  Wash, sanitize and properly handle dishes, utensils, pots and pans according to procedure.

·  Return clean utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc. to proper storage areas.

·  Maintain the sanitation of assigned work area, equipment and serving area per department standards and perform cleaning duties as assigned. Trash removal and cleaning of trash receptacles as directed. Keep dish room free of standing water.

·  Prepare, portion and serve appropriate amounts of food items and beverages according to menu and prescribed therapeutic diets in a timely, safe and sanitary manner. Prepare and deliver nutritional items, snacks, etc as instructed.

·  Assist with dining area meal set-up as directed.

·  Store all food items and supplies including the storage of chemicals according to procedure.

·  Maintain the care and use of supplies and equipment and the appearance of the dietary area.

·  Adhere to strict guidelines for serving times.

·  Deliver trays and carts to appropriate areas as directed.

·  Maintain effective communication with residents, families and staff

·  Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to Dietary Supervisors.

·  Report all minor and major incidents/accidents to Dietary Supervisors.

·  Attend all mandated state and Pleasantview required in-services and meetings.

·  Assist in the training of new food service employees.

·  Sweep and mop floors as directed.
