TITLE: CLAIMS SUPPORT SERVICES COORDINATOR

CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: AVP Medical Services

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Claims Support Services Coordinatorreports to the AVP of Medical Services, is under moderate supervision and utilizes general understanding of department’s operation and objectives to provide administrative support related to the intake and processing of claims correspondence for the Claims Department, including the processing of medical reports for the Medical Management Unit. This position will be responsible of the accuracy of labeling correspondence and will serve as the direct vendor contact for outsourced administrative claim support functions and will serve as a liaison to internal customers responding to routine inquires. The Claims Support Services Coordinatormust be a team player. This position requires particular attention to detail, creativity and ability to reprioritize and is often task-oriented under tight deadlines.While many of the functions are task based and routine, this position will be serve as a central resource to streamline and improve efficiency of handling Claims related correspondence and documents in working with other members within the Claims Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess quality of labeling of the Mail house vendor thru random audits, track volume and adherence to turn around times
  • Serve as the main point of contact for outsourced administrative claim functions not limited to Mail house functions
  • Provide interim support for Ebill processing (indexing), other claims related mail (index and image) including Legal Bill Processing and the assignment of work to temporary staff as needed
  • Process incoming faxes received on Claims fax and provide additional assistance on labeling documents for the Medical Unit
  • Provide back up support for reviewing, indexing and assigning unidentified mail as received from Mail house vendor
  • Perform other duties as requested by AVP Medical Services

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of related administrative office work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and deadline structures.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment both independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff.
  • Proficient with MS Office software and PC applications and systems.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
