Dear Parent and Potential Contestant:

We, the Hobbton High School SGA, are excited that you want to participate in our program. We look forward to meeting and working with you this year. We plan to have a great year! The pageant is scheduled for Friday, March 17th at 6:00 p.m. at Hobbton High School.

The age divisions are as follows: Tiny (Kindergarten-1st grades), Petite (2nd – 3rd grades) and Little (4th – 5th grades). The entry fee to participate in the Tiny, Petite and Little Miss Hobbton Pageants is $40.00. We are also asking each contestant to help us raise scholarship money for our program. The contestant raising the most sponsorship money will receive an ambassador award and each contestant that raises $75 will receive a sponsorship award. The deadline for the entry fee and paperwork is Friday March 3rd 2017. The deadline for sponsorship money is also Friday March 3rd 2017.

The rehearsals are to be announced and will be held in the Hobbton High School Auditorium. Contestants will learn opening number and will need to dress comfortably! We will also be practicing the walk for the beauty and casual wear competitions. Parents are welcome to bring video cameras to record for practicing purposes.

We will finalize last minute details, and answer any remaining questions at the last rehearsal before the pageant. Please see the attached information about the criteria for each competition for each age division. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at the email listed above.

o  Each contestant is asked to collect sponsors for the pageant. Please have all money and sponsors turned in by Friday March 3, 2017. An award will be given to the contestant raising the most sponsorship money, and any child who raises $75 or more will receive an award.

Shine! (The theme will be centered around sparkle/diamonds concept) Please wear leggings and a sparkly top (color choices are up to each contestant.

·  Pageant Day:

o  The Pageant is scheduled for Friday, March 17 at 6:00 P.M. at Hobbton High School. The contestants need to be dressed and ready at 5:45 SHARP. The doors to the school will be open at 5:00 P.M. for the public. Dressing rooms will open at 4:00 pm. Each contestant is permitted ONE ATTENDANT back stage. You will receive a pass for your backstage chaperone at the Friday rehearsal. The attendant must wear the pass at all times. Attendants and/or parents are NOT to be in the stage wings…only in dressing area.

Each girl will receive TWO PARENT passes.

ü  Casual Wear - 40%

ü  Onstage question - 10% (questions will be provided at first rehearsal)

Tiny (2nd to 3rd grades)will compete in:

Little (4th and 5th grades)will compete in:

Pageant Rules and Regulations

1)  Non-Refundable: This pageant is non-refundable except at the director’s discretion.

2)  If you win, one of the three titles, you must represent Hobbton at all functions wearing the crown that was awarded to you the day of the pageant. This includes, parades, pageants, and crown pictures.

3)  There must be more than three contestants per age division in order for runners-up to be named.

4)  There must be a minimum of three contestants per division in order for the division to be held.

5)  All scores can be picked up at Hobbton High School the week following the pageant.

6)  Judges decisions are final. Bad sportsmanship from contestants, parents, or spectators will not be tolerated and could result in the contestant being disqualified.

7)  There will be a $25 fee for all Returned Checks.

8)  Judging Criteria: Judges will be informed to look for a more “natural beauty”. This doesn’t mean without makeup! Just remember a little makeup goes a long way! Clothes, Hair and Make-up are also important but please do not feel that you need to purchase an expensive dress, or have professional hair and make-up in order to participate in this pageant. Judges decisions are final and indisputable!

9)  Dressing Areas: Time and electrical outlets may be in short supply. Please come as ready as possible before arriving.

10) Please remove ALL items from the dressing areas that belong to you once the pageant is over – this includes any trash left behind. Please be responsible for your items AND the area you occupy.

11) NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM AT ANY TIME!!!!!!!

***Please remember that this experience should be positive, fun and memorable for everyone. Please show good sportsmanship to the contestants as well as parents and committee of the Petite, Tiny and Little Miss Hobbton. We look forward to working with you!
