Parent Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2013
Parent meeting called to order at 7:03pm by Doyle Mackey. Parents present were instructed to sign in to earn their point for attendance.
* President, Doyle Mackey, has nothing to report.
* Band Director, Paul Heuer, reported:
* kids are doing great; did well at contests
* Next contest this Saturday, 10-12-13 in Carrollton, rain is in the
forecast
* Stadium practice, Monday 10-14-13 at R L Anderson and again
10-21-13 at Vernon Newsom stadium
* UIL contest next Tuesday, 10-22-13 in the evening
* Final contest 10-26-13 at Duncanville High School
* Spring Trip to Chicago, students WILL have to perform on the trip;
will still have performance in town for entire band. Have approx.
50 students signed up so far
* Student Leadership was not present for parent meeting. Doyle Mackey
filled in that students do not need anything at this time.
* Fundraising/Spirit Wear Coordinator, Cynthia Thornton, reported:
* New tshirts are in; new hoodies are being ordered this week;
will be selling the new tshirts at the next home game and on Thursday
and Friday during the lunch hour at school (Mr Douglas approved)
* Fundraising/TNT Coordinator, Anita Meyer, reported:
* TNT New Year’s hours will be available next month and will be listed
on Volunteer Spot. Hours start on 12-21-13
* Fundraising/General Coordinator, Jodie Crowe, not present.
* Treasure, Habibba Noman, was not present; Doyle Mackey reported:
* we have $30,405.88 in the bank
* Vice President, Tim Christakis, reported:
* Timberview is active in the Red Card program at Target. Funds go
to the general school fund
* Chaperone Coordinator, Jennifer Reilly, reported;
* needing chaperone at last minute for away games, but is able to
fill spots
* entering volunteer points, almost up to date for all games, etc.
* Uniform Coordinator, Shae Christakis, reported:
* uniforms are going well, repairing Velcro as needed
* Banquet Coordinator, Susan Mackey, reported:
* Due to success of football team, will probably have to postpone the end
of the season party and will possibly have a Holiday party depending on
playoff schedule. May end up rolling budget into Banquet budget.
* Hospitality Coordinator, Faith Williams, reported:
* meals are going well
* Color Guard Coordinator, Stephanie Gormley, reported:
* Winter Guard try outs start in November
* Board approved purchase of new floor for Winter Guard so they will
be working on getting one soon
* Pit Crew Coordinator, Andre Carter, was not present and nothing to report.
* Webmaster, Paul Olson, reported:
* glitch in email portion of website is being worked on
*he is getting pictures loaded as soon as possible after they are
submitted to him
* Website calendar is up to date; TBD details are updated as soon as
they are received
* Questions/Comments:
* The Crowe’s daughter recently passed away. The board will send a plant
to the family and a trust fund will be created in her name at Texas
Trust if anyone wants to make donations.
* Next Meeting: Tuesday, 11/12/13; board at 6pm, parents at 7:30pm
