Attended by

Tim Brown, Dave Porteus, Steve Robson, Pat & Paula Daniel, Mike Fray, Helen Portman, Alan & Cheryl Tudge, Stephen Wood.

1. Chairman’s Report

A good year socially, a few quarry dives and some members went on dive holidays. There is a trip booked for March next year which 6 members are going on hopefully this will start a good year for diving. Wednesday nights seem to still work for the club night.

2. Dive Officers Report

Not much UK diving this year and hopefully this will improve in 2011. No qualifications were gained this year again more effort is needed next year. Training for other groups has been done by Dave. There has been no try dives which is mainly due to lack of facilities. Our own members still have the offer of using Worcester pool on Thursday nights with Worcester Divers, we still have good interaction with them. The booster which was being borrowed by Newbury Dive Club has been given back with thanks for letting them have it. Dave is in contact with local clubs and hopes to get our club involved with them too.

3. Treasurers Report

Opening balance of £1205.36.

Income of £50 (social fees).

Expenditure of £436.30 - £365 renewal fees £71.30 web site.

Closing balance of £819.06

Steve R noted that the club paid last year’s renewal fees with the provision that members gained more qualifications, this has not happened and more effort is needed next year. Pat & Paula were away when the course they wanted to do was on. Tim spoke to SAA at the dive show and they would be willing to come to our area to do some training.

4. Election of Officers

It was agreed by all that the officers stay the same with the addition of Pat Daniel as Training Officer.

Chairman – Tim Brown, Treasurer – Paula Daniel, Secretary – Helen Portman,

Dive Officer – Dave Porteus, Trips Officer – Alan Tudge, Web – Mike Peakman,

Training Officer – Pat Daniel

5. SAA Membership

Tim spoke to the SAA at the dive show and they confirmed that only 2 members are needed to form a group. This year’s fees are £42 full and £31 for anyone over 60.

6. Social Fees

It was suggested that the fees be dropped to £1, Mike queried this idea. It was mentioned that as it is a token gesture £1 would be sufficient. This was agreed by a majority of 9 to 1. Tim reminded everyone to get their fees paid by the end of November, Paula asked if everyone can let her know if they pay by bank transfer.

7. Diving 2011

A trip is booked to Egypt in March. More effort should be made to use the Worcester pool, Helen suggested 18th Nov for a pool night Tim will let WD know.

8. Club Kit

The kit will be checked by Dave and Steve R. any items that are faulty etc. will be destroyed. It was agreed that we should not pay for maintenance unless the kit is going to be used and members should really try to use it.

9. Website

The web cost £71 last year and it was suggested was this worth it as not many members have used the site. Helen suggested that we find out when the renewal is due and look at it then as the fees last year were probably for 2 years. Tim will contact Mike.

10. Social Activities

We had a few visits to the cinema and meals out. The Christmas meal is at The Fox Bransford, almost all members are coming along. It was agreed that we still do secret Santa. Alan will plan more activities for 2011.

A.O.B.

Dave thanked Tim for his work this year. Tim mentioned Westfield insurance as an alternative to SAA for public liability insurance.

Meeting ended at 20.42
