WELCOME MEREDITH GRIFFIN - Meredith Griffin joins our staff as Assistant Director of Competitive Swimming! Meredith comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of swimming. She has previously served as the Director of Competitive Aquatics for the Brandywine YMCA, the YMCA of Western North Carolina, and the YMCA of the Triangle Area! Meredith is nationally known for her involvement in YMCA National Swimming as an Adjunct Member of the National YMCA Swimming & Diving Competitive Committee (as the Coordinator of Regional Representatives). As anyone can see, we are very lucky to be joined by such an incredible member of the swimming world. Meredith will work with Senior Swimmers and will provide leadership to the Masters Program. Please introduce yourself to Coach Meredith and welcome her to PCY!

WINTER HATS – All athletes are reminded to wear their knit hats to and from practice. Studies have shown that most of your lost body heat comes from your head. This will help us stay healthy during the cold months!

COUNTDOWN TO CHAMPIONSHIPS - The Coaching Staff is extremely excited about the upcoming Championship Meets. It is very important that practice attendance is a priority during this time of the season. The next phase of training will work on fine tuning skills, techniques and practice race plans. Each practice session is important and valuable to Championship Preparation. MASTERS PROGRAM-If you are looking for a boost to your New Year resolution, consider joining our Masters Swim Program! Under the guidance of Meredith Griffin, Assistant Director of Competitive Swimming, the Masters Program offers fun, group-motivated exercise with proper coaching instruction. There are scheduled practices for Masters swimmers to attend and weekend workouts are emailed to registered participants. And if you enjoy some friendly competition, there are optional Masters swim meets throughout the year, including the YMCA National Masters Meet in May in Sarasota, Florida!
