News from our First Grade
The first grade year is off to a great start! Our students are the best! We have been learning how to addand subtract, spell and read new words. The students are enjoying learning new things!

Tiger Time has started and students are enjoying moving into different groups and having fun in math and reading. They get to meet students and teachers from other classes.

Our first field trip to Hill Top Apple Orchard made learning about apples and apple trees fun! Everyone had a great time. Our next field trip will be to Farmer Dave’s to experience a Native American program.

Congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Ensley and Mrs. Pitchford and our newest members of our Tiger family, Jack William Pitchford and Miles South Ensley!

We will begin working on the first grade Christmas play soon. Time is flying by! Our students are excited to continue a great educational first grade year!

School Counseling Corner

Hello First Grade Parents! My name is Jennifer Brunson and I am the School Counselor here at Ellenboro Elementary. I have many responsibilities at school, but one of my favorite is going into each classroom for guidance!

Classroom guidance activities are designed to help students be successful and get along in the classroom. Guidance lessons are intended for all students and do not require students to reveal any personal information. Each class in grades K-5 will receive 12 lessons this year related to a theme chosen with the help of each grade level.

This year the first grade classroom guidance theme is “Bee the Best You Can Bee”. We will work together to "Bee Responsible" (a lesson about listening), to "Bee Brave" (a lesson about bullying), and to "Bee Yourself" (a lesson on unique qualities), plus many more. Be sure to ask your children about what they are learning in classroom guidance with Ms. Brunson!
